I'm disappointed to lose but all credit to your lot. Looks like Big Bad Barry just about completes your jigsaw puzzle.

Best of luck in the final and look forward to playing you in the regular season.

Great game overall, both teams deserved a win.

Umpiring on both accounts was shocking tonight, shocking..

As above, Hall just completed the puzzle. Best of luck in the Grand Final Doggies!

^that's the politically correct answer, but to say it doesn't mean a thing is bullshit. barry hall is showing signs that he's still up to scratch despite his age and circumstances. given you guys are contenders, and have lacked a key forward, i would've thought his pre-season fitness and form would've meant something.

possibly the best pre-season game i've watched from a neutral point of view... tough contested footy, both teams really going at it hard to win it at the depth

great pack mark by barry hall which basically won you the game... that pack marking/crashing to hold the ball up in your 50 is what has been lacking during your last two seasons... watch as the difference unfolds this season... proves what a difference to the result a key forward can have...

Thanks Toots. Brave performance from both teams and a thrilling finish. Great effort from your players to get so close after interstate travel in successive weeks. Port are obviously out to make a statement, and I wouldn't be surprised if we meet again in the finals.

you blokes are kiddin your self if you think bazza is the answer he is bout the 2nd oldest bloke in the AFL has the shortest fuse ever you will be lucky to get 10-12 games out of him. Well done on the win but this cup means bugger all its a wast of time for everyone should just make the real season go longer

Nah, playing as a key forward for the Swans, with their painfully boring, flooding, defensive shite would drive anyone to start punching blokes. He looks the goods Hall. Well deserved win by the doggies, were the better team, if it wasn't for some rubbish umpiring and poor kicking in front of goal it would have been a comfortable win. :thumbsu:

Happy to win but quite frustrated with how we played, disposal was average, kicking at goal very poor and made quite a few bad decisions. But i guess its just pre season.
I thought Port played quite well though, should be an interesting year from them and i wouldn't be suprised if they make the 8 which is a good step for them. :)

This may come back to haunt you buddy boy....he looks in good nick & our style suits him beautifully.

the odds of bazza! having a brain freeze are high.but if he doesn't impolode, stays injury free, doggies are gunna be rejoicing, sept. 25th 5pm est 2010.

Dawson. Crap post. In fact, one of the crappest posts I've seen in a while.

Thanks Port guys, thought the game was a good one to watch for the NAB Cup.

Port this year are the same as they have been for the last two years. If they can get their act together they'll be super competitive. Some serious talent on the list that if properly used will get into the eight and has enough versatility to do some damage.

Dogs tonight looked flat for me. Struggled to handle the ball cleanly, sometime due to pressure, other times due to concentration. Fought well and had a chance to put more scoreboard pressure on throughout the game.

Both teams pressured well too.

You do relise you quoted a Port supporter dont you?

I've worked during all three of our games so far, but I have taken next Saturday night off. Working behind a bar, at least I still get to watch some footy between serving drinks.

There were several blokes cheering for Mitch Banner tonight... I work in the western suburbs, so he has a pretty big cult following here. I was hoping we'd draft him last year but we didn't target midfielders. Looks to be a good player, but clearly wouldn't get a game for us.

Easily my second favourite team to watch. I have a feeling you guys will win it this year if Barry is fit during finals.

IMO your midfield is close to best in the comp. Higgins,Cooney and Griffen are very damaging players then you have the likes of gia, boyd, cross etc

Good luck for the next week and the year:thumbsu:

P.S throw some money on Higgins for the B'low.

Great game to watch, thought some of your newer guys were v good.

That guy Wood, he's unbelieveablely hard at the ball.
And Brodie from Geelong, apart from some frees given against, the odd clanger, showed how dangerous and creative he can be.
A few errors in his game cause he's hardly played at top level before, you've found a player there, remnds me of a Kelly/Johnston of Geelong.

Barry~ what can be said, and we all laughed.
