Geez you wouldnt want to be a melbournian watching it delayed and jump on here at 3/4 time to read that. Mind you, you'd be stupid doing that..

That said, I'm a Friday night radio fan - cant stand channel 7 and generally I nod off before the end of delayed telecast games on a Friday night - however the Tour keeps me up of late.

Great game, Hawks took it up to them - sounded like Geelong, when decent pressure is applied, are somewhat vulnerable - however one down before half time helped the hawks I'd imagine. Mind you Buddy didnt help the cause..

Mate Geelong defintitely proved they were the better team tonight but until the last weekend in September we're not gonna know who'll take the trophy. Geelong as good as they are, aren't unbeatable.

No team are unbeatable, My heart was in my mouth more than once during this game, but what it showed to me is that:

This Cats side has dept, poise, foresight and the ability to absorb pressure where needed.

Is there another team playing that can check all of those boxes?

Geelong was really on a hiding to nothing tonight. If we lost, stacks of Hawks fans would be all over the boards like a rash. If we won, we were meant to, reigning premiers, top of the table, blah, blah, blah.

Despite some of our more excitable supporters over on Bay 13, all Geelong fans really want in life is some respect for our club. Yes, we used to have the handbags, choke in big games, be soft at the footy, but haven't the results of 2007-2008 proven that to be in the past?

There will always be some bell-ends that drag out the old handbaggers lines and all that crap - we know that. But we hope that the average footy fan in the street, even if they hate Geelong, will still at least recognise that this is now a different Geelong to the one you used to know.

Not doubting any of that, have a lot of respect for Geelong but it just annoys me that people can say that a team has the grand final won in round 17, even if it is as good a chance as the cats are.

No team can win the GF in July so that is tupid, however i think we are looking most likely to be able to take the oppositions best and still get over the line. Not sure other teams can handle our best and get their over 4 quarters.
Injuries can still decide the fate of any of us....

Yes, i say well done aswell.
Geelong never used to be the best side.
Now it's there time to shine!
they are a great footy side and i think they have the greatest chance out of any other side in the afl atm to win the cup!
they are just too strong.
and we have geelong this week
should b a good game but.
richmond vs. geelong games are sometimes close
exept last year when we lost by like 200 points haha tigers got belted.
but tigers are improving though
