Salary cap mistakes were punished. Drug use compared to West Coasts cover up that is still ongoing and other clubs injunctions....
Rattling tins, having a converyer belt of a coaching dept,I consider quite bad things yes.
As we have seen recently in Rugby misconduct of players is a loaded gun. I dfo not see how this situation will impact on our current postition whatsoever. Ancient history.

They are paying to prevent a player from being the subject of a possible prosecution. That benefits the player, it should come out of their pocket. We're not talking about pennies, this is thousands of dollars here.

Well he has a point. The AFL doesn't allow the clubs to play the fines for the players that they get for wrestling etc as it has to be included in the salary cap. By Carlton paying off rape victims... they are effectively taking care of the bills outside of the salary cap. It's no different to a player buying a house and the club chipping in $5,000 under the salary cap to help them get a loan.

I hope the AFL comes down on them and removes more draft picks. Disgraceful.

Because mud sticks even if players are cleared eg St Kilda.
Recently in the NRL a female tried the blackmail route and was found out.
Without more details it is hard to speculate. Was it 1 player on 1 night, many players different times etc. Without details it is impossible to comment on decisions made.
