It's news - it's a newly leaked report.

It doesn't justify the newspaper wrapping it front and back like it's the biggest story of the year. As I said, they went way over the top as usual.
The cynical side of me wouldn't be surprised if the HUN was sitting on this "newly leaked report" for a possible grand final week edition last year. We didn't get there so they waited till now. We know they sat on the Daniel Chick interview so I don't know why this would be different.

The question to ask are:
- Who would benefit from a negative light being thrown on West Coast right before the start of the season?
- Has the newspaper had any recent changes of staff that would cause them to change their publishing schedule?
- Does this relate to anything else in the current news cycle that makes it particularly topical or on trend?
- Has someone at West Coast pissed off someone at the Herald Sun?

Yeah it qualifies as news but front and back page is so far over the top it just looks like desperate vindictiveness.
Can't wait for tomorrows front page about Kevin Rudd being a control freak arseh*le after he was elected Prime Minister.

If there was an ideal time to publish this decade old stuff it would be when negotiating the new CBA and amending/strengthening the illicit drugs policy...

So the thread title includes "Scandal" yet doesn't get moved to the scandals and rumours board... bigfooty gunna bigfooty.

Bet Rita Panahi is devastated she didn't get the big scoop!

As for Kevin Bartlett now removing his asterix and putting a line through our premiership - congrats flog. Wish he would get sacked from the radio and take a 16 year exile from all media.

Eagles fans all over the country celebrated long and hard after our GF win in 2006 and KB's little line cant take that away from us.

Pathetic club operation during the 2000s. Nothing will happen now as it's too late but wish someone had stood up when relevant. Sydney 2006 premiers in my eyes.

Adelaide are the real "losers" here

Should have been Crows Swans grannies and Crows had Swans' measure comfortably during those years

When has Victorian media ever had a need to shit on an interstate side?

Don't get the argument this is all old news

No its not, this is official confirmation and verbatim quotes from key players about what previously was only rumoured administrative malpractice

If in 10 years the AFL's "real" report about the Essendon/ASADA story gets leaked, that would be equally newsworthy

How are Adelaide the real 'losers'?

There were no drugs taken on match day, ie the only time when illicit drugs are deemed as illegal and enhancing by WADA.

Your argument holds no water.

What is the new information?

Judd's position/philosophy on the issue if drugs was new to me

The fact that issues were reported to the board and officially whitewashed

The stolen prescription note to buy valium

It provides official confirmation of what was only rumours - to my knowledge anyway

Would hate it if it was my club, but reckon because it's a leak of an official report it's worth reporting
