West Coast free kick stats to R12

That list was interesting for sure if it's the same one I'm thinking about. But it also showed that the current North skipper received more head-high free kicks than either Scott Selwood or Luke Shuey (and they're apparently two of the more notorious). No bleating on about how Andrew Swallow flaunts the rules.

LOL! you're like the murderer standing over the dead body knife in hand and blood all over you, saying it wasnt me, the kangaroo did it! Nice try trying to deflect the head high conundrum onto North Melbourne, ha! that is probably not the best one i've heard all year but it is still very good, well done.

Here's the list from @FoxFootyAnalyst on twitter:

J Selwood 133
A Selwood 104
A Swallow 67
B McGlynn 64
S Selwood 63
L Shuey 63

Umm, lets see, which teams are represented here? 3 players from the Ducks i see. one from Geelong, and we all know who that is. One from Sydney and one from NM. No other team in here out of 18 teams in the comp, yet 3 of the top 6 players represented by one team, the Ducks, hmmmmm, I wonder if that is statistically significant or not, D'oh? Also 3 brothers in the top 6. Very strange. I wonder if they talk to each other?

You say Swallow has received more head high frees than 2 Ducks on the list? Well they're right on par in the 60s. Next week the 2 Duckers might have more. You say why aren't Norf under scrutiny from other teams' supporters? Look at the free kick count from last year, then also look at this list at J & A Selwood, and how enormously out in front they are. Then read my earlier posts in this thread about the Selwood influence that inevitably must filter thru to the rest of the Ducks, and the 2012 stats, yes the hard cold stats, on the free kick count. That's why no-one is concerned with one player from Norf. And yes, all the talk is about the Ducks, and will continue to be, as these umpiring decisions are helping the Ducks steal the 4 points from other teams like they did Friday nite. Great mark and goal by NicNat, but it shouldnt have been down there in the first place.

Cant wait to see what youre gonna come back with this time. But I'm sure it'll be very entertaining as usual!

Not going to come back with anything. This isn't the board for petty arguing, and I'm not going to contribute.

I'll concede your points, admit that the whole team is cheating on a mass scale, and move on.

Well done.

No petty arguing from me my friend, just evidence in the form of stats, and one person attempting to deny the undeniable. Its a bit too late to say you're not going to contribute, we're on our 3rd page arent we? LOL you crack me up. Fun talking with you. Cheers mate and Go the Ducks!

Not like I'd be able to say a single thing that would make you change your mind, so why bother?

Can't argue with the numbers because that's what they are. My problem with this thread has been the assumptions made based on the numbers, such as the Eagles are obviously being trained to duck tackles. If anyone could come up with actual proof of this, then I'd gladly listen to them.

My point above (about the list of the six highest high-tackle earners in the league) wasn't that we shouldn't have players on there. I think it's obvious to see that we get a heap of high tackles. I just think it's interesting that Swallow and McGlynn (who have received ever-so slightly more high tackles than Scott Selwood and Luke Shuey) get no criticism whatsoever, as opposed to the two Eagles below them on the list, who are practically demonised because of it.

Hang on, I thought you said you were not going to contribute??!

Look, dont take it too hard. If you re-read my original blog post http://bit.ly/N9kikX you'll see why Norf arent pilloried by other teams' fans. As a team, Norf got nowhere near the frees the Ducks got in 2012.
The incessant booing of the Ducks supporters at every Subi home game probably doesn't help either - bad sports who've been spoilt by the umpies' favourable whistle for too long?
You don't get that at Vic teams home games. Even SA teams' fans aren't as bad.

And while I have used real stats and quoted the source in a brilliant summary of the "head high frees debacle" worthy of a Nobel prize nomination, I've thrown in a few cheeky comments too cos, well lets face it, I'm an ugly bustard.

I've been impressed by the way you've been defending the Ducks when there's not been a single shred of evidence in your favour. You could have lawyer potential, or better still, go into politics!

Again, you're right. Silly of me to try and privide a counter argument when there's none to be made. Bad me. Bad me.

Seeya champ.
