It's hard enough to beat West Coast in Perth without the free kick bias in their favour.
30 to 13 frees yesterday and huge imbalance occurs every week. It's not only the frees the Eagles get but the ones their opponents don't.
Does the umpiring panel look closely enough at this?

If that was the case it'd be due to them infringing less than their opponents.

The facts show WC have received less free kicks than their opponents in half their games this season

So the premise of the thread is based on a blatant lie ?

Richmond fans complaining about other teams advantages...lol just lol

A guy with a single post to his name makes his first ever submission about West Coast's supposed free kick differentials?

Yep, seems like a troll scrub.

Does anybody think the 90-100% ratio of home team supporters plays with the umps...Would be interesting if you could ask umps that question. Have you ever not blown a free kick because of the home crowd. Umps are human, 40K+ letting you know that they think you made the wrong decision may have umps questioning the play for a second

does not quite equate to getting to play a GF on your home ground though

You've gotta get there first. If Geelong had made it through then the advantage would've been negligible. Not something we had any control over.

Maybe West Coast can develop a gameplan that's suited to the GF venue, too.

It doesn't seem to apply when playing Fremantle in Perth. Perhaps the quality of their barracking isn't as high.

Has anyone done a complete breakdown for Free Kicks for and against for each and every club for the full season? When I say a complete breakdown, I mean totals showing frees for holding the ball, incorrect disposal, dropping the ball, push in the back, chopping etc. Also I would like to know how many of those Free Kicks given are for out of bounds on the full which are usually out of the Field Umpires control and the decision is made by the Boundary Umpire. I was at a Fremantle game recently and they were given about a total of 20 Free Kicks, but about 8 of those Free Kicks were for out of bounds on the full, so in reality the Field Umpires only paid them 12 Free Kicks.

Spot on. And many of our free kicks are in marking contests where we mark the ball anyway and they pay a free kick instead of a mark.

First got to make the finals and that's hard to do with a gameplan that suits a ground you play at 2 times a season

Richmond v non-Victorian teams at the MCG: +23
West Coast v non-WA teams in Perth: +930
How many games are these figures based on for Richmond? How many games are these figures based on for West Coast?

Swings and roundabouts, it is the ground with the least home ground advantage, of course against interstate sides it can help but what advantage we and the other tennants get in the finals we also miss out on in many of the H&A games

I think human nature would mean you pay some that you might miss without the crowd screaming for them, it seems to be a factor in all sports Worldwide.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I thought I'd give it untill nearer the end of the H&A to check, 47% more free kicks "awarded" to the Eagles in Perth than away...
Any Thoughts???
I'd love to run a (cheating allowed) test just so the Eagles supporters could learn the rules and potentially enjoy their games a lot more, instead of the constant anger & booing they spew.
