I understand that football has evolved a lot from when I was a child, but the number 1 defensive rule my junior coach used to have is "don't kick back across the goal. If you turn it over, the opposition have scoring opportunity in a prime spot"

It seems like all we do is kick back across goal and turn it over resulting in opposition goals
