That doesn't stop the fact that the draft has been delayed a couple of weeks so nothing distracts from the women's game and that annoys people. Surely if the game is that good there shouldn't be a need to change things to try and put focus on AFLW.

What? The draft’s been held in the last week of November for years, so it doesn’t interfere with school exams.

If you’re going to get annoyed about something, maybe make it something that’s actually happened.

Surely if the game is that good there shouldn't be a need to change things to try and put focus on AFLW. Add to that the sheer number of posts from the AFL and clubs trying to promote the game and you start to understand why some people get this impression.

Wait so the AFL shouldn't promote their sport? Or post news about it? Or clubs shouldn't post news about their own teams? Based on this logic the men's AFL shouldn't have any news either and we shouldn't be 'force fed' say puff pieces about Reuben Ginbey (which is surely at odds with you being upset that the draft was moved even though it wasn't?)

I'm not a basketball fan in general so I just don't watch it - I don't go on basketball forums and whinge about basketball articles existing.

If only McChickens were as good as McDonalds’ beef burgers. I’m very happy for chickens to have an outlet to be in burgers but I’m sick to the back teeth of McChicken’s being force fed to McDonald’s customers.

Does anyone know if Michael Prior has a coaching contract or is he considered an Eagles employee with all the community stuff as well. Just thinking with BnF on Wednesday whether an announcement either way could be incoming

I recall reading that he was signed up for another 2 seasons. I am ok with him as coach so long as he gets an assistant in who has a better awareness of game strategy and tactics.

Prior needs to know his limitations and our style of play stinks.

This is a typical Nesbitt screw up where we lack someone keeping head coaches accountable. A GM of football - novel. Bell is in the chair but Dutton is also in the Liberal party chief’s chair. Lights are on but nobody is home

Didn't the coach before Prior walk away from another season because he had a newborn and it was too much to be flying out every second week in those early months?

Wouldn't mind him having another crack. I'm worried about turning over coaches, so at least this would solve the problem of not bringing in someone completely new.

I just don't think the bloke has a single finger on the pulse or any idea how to coach a team, let alone a womans one.


Would love to just ask him "What strategic changes do you think clubs will implement in season 2023?" and see the wet patch appear in his trousers.

Trying to decide whether his best move this season was leaving Lakay on the pine for the last 10 minutes during a close loss, or throwing players behind the ball after quarter time, completely handing the momentum to the opposition, something we ultimately never regained.

I would be dumbfounded if he’s still coach next season, and it would tell me the club is more broken than we realised.

Unfortunately we’ve changed over the list so much over the last two seasons that there’s only nine players who played under Pratt, and some of them may not be there next season. So it wouldn’t be much different to having a completely new coach.

Yeah think regardless of continuity Pratt would be an awesome option. He's coaching our backs in the Men's right? Maybe being an assistant coach in the men's is a more conventional path to being a senior coach in the men's, not sure if that's his goal or not? But if not would love him back - our cattle IMO are better now than when he was last in charge and he seemed to have everyone on board and a more consistent, identifiable game style.

Is this weird? They were the best team in the league at one point, had a bad year due to being gutted by injuries/players leaving.

I'd certainly take him! Have heard him speak at a few functions, seems switched on and tactically minded without being a Clarkson type

Coops is a bloody good coach. He took virtually the same list that Michelle Cowan had and got them to be a contender the following year when they were at the bottom previously. Guess who works at our club on our women’s department now?
If you want a good women’s coach, Coops is one of the best.
