Welcome to the West Coast Wonders Fantasy Football Club's night of nights!

Tonight we'll be celebrating the 38th season of the Sweet Football Association and crowing our best and fairest player.

That will not be it though as we have other awards to give out, such as:

The Rookie of the Season Award
The Best Clubman Award
The Captains Award
The Posting Award
The Wonders' Wonder of the Season Award.

Gather all, and gather one. Let's finish the 2024 season and season 38 with a bang!

Let's finish the 2024 season and season 38 with a bang!

To start the night, let's take a look back at the season that was....

After season 37 finished, we sadly had SM depart the organisation to join the East Side Hawks but we were grateful to have akkaps who wanted to join us in return. The Wonders also led the way in engaging outside posters to join the league yet again this season with Ressies SwampPig and Rubber Arm re-joining the league and lacing up for the Wonders. Giant YoYo took the place in stride and was initially our only rookie before Roonescape agreed to sign in the later parts of the season.

Overall, the season saw us finish 11th with just six wins and a draw that came against the Swamprats in the back half of the season but our posting is what continued to keep us as one of the best clubs in the competition.

Highlights included beating the Old Boys by 48 points in round seven and the Royals by 56 points in round 17 to keep us in the hunt for finals, unfortunately a loss to the Bears in round 18 ensured that it wasn't our year.​

HARPSichord asked me to play one of his classics to try and get everyone in the mood tonight, and to remind everyone how cold the Wonders forward line will be without him at pre-season training.

To begin the season, the Wonders started with a game at the colosseum against their foundation cup rivals to celebrate their 700th game in history, but it was unfortunately saddened by the announcement of the passing of club legend and all around great bloke, Grand Uncle Horace.

There was still plenty to celeberate about though as alongside Horry's final game for the Wonders we also had eagleskickass join us for a one off game and Giant YoYo's league debut.

It was a 38-point loss against the Demons but akkaps (4 goals, 14 disposals, 87 DT), Giant YoYo (23 disposals, 7 marks, 77 DT) and Pamcake1 (20 disposals, 5 tackles, 73 DT, 1.1) stood their ground and showed the Wonders spirit in fantastic individual games. Pamcake1 also led our posting display.
