The Wonders went to the Bainlea Pub during their early bye round and played PUB OLYMPICS! Many medals we given out... here were the results across all of our sports:

An even spread of the medals meant that we had four winners at the top of the table come the end of the week....

After a wonderful week at the pub we travelled down to the home of the East Side Hawks to claim our very first win of the season by 12 points!

Cubs2Lions (27 disposals, 7 marks, 102 DT, 1.1) had an excellent showing but it was AnUltimateRessie (26 disposals, 5 tackles, 15 hit-outs, 88 DT) and Pamcake1 (25 disposals, 5 tackles, 94 DT, 2.0) that received the league votes from the Qmpires.

A trip to the underground stadium led to a tight finish with just a three point loss against the Sin City Swamprats. After Cubs2Lions made an oopsy on the team sheet and the simmers submitted the team wrong, we submitted an appeal to have the game re-simmed but it fell on deaf ears and the result stood.

PRIME ClarkeM (110 DT, 18 disposals, 1.0) returned with a massive 14 tackle haul. Pamcake1 (18 disposals, 8 tackles, 77 DT) received applaud from the qmpires while BFew (4 goals) was figuring out his new position in full forward and also led our posting for the second week in a row.

Hello Wonders,

I'm not even sure why I put this segment in as I already talk way too much, so I shall keep this brief.

Thank you everyone that engaged with the Wonders in season 38 and thank you for keeping me in a job, although our simulation performance wasn't what we deserved, our steady posting kept the flow.

I want to specifically thank my leadership group - HARPSichord, DenieD, ClarkeM, Cubs2Lions, and Pamcake1 - Who were yet again fantastic in telling me when to shove it and when to do more.

I also want to take a quick moment to thank those who will be departing the Wonders after this evenings events to help better the league. Although it is sad that we lose a couple of my favourite posters, I wish you the best of luck at improving the health of this league. I will be expecting recruitment pms in the seasons to come.

Okay, that is it. There is probably more shit to chat, but I need to hand out our first award of the season.... The Captains Award.

The first award of the evening is the captains award. This award recognises those in the club that makes this place better through their hard work and excellent efforts.

This season's award goes to a poster that dipped their toe in some media including leading honouring the late Horry and putting together a bye event, so I didn't have to. Their posting is also constantly elite and in their second season has quickly moved to one of the better posters across the league and if they stick around long enough, I'm sure they will be a captain of either the Wonders, or another fortunate club.

Pamcake1 takes a slim lead after four rounds while Giant YoYo has had an excellent start to their qooty career. akkaps sits third after returning to the Wonders and is followed closely by ClarkeM and AnUltimateRessie in the top five.

We returned home in round five to face the Coney Island Warriors and after holding a four goal lead at the end of the third quarter, we were still able to lose by five points. Yeah, by now it already felt like one of those seasons.

In the Mobbs medal we received every possible vote with DenieD (27 disposals, 11 marks, 108 DT), AnUltimateRessie (16 hit outs, 24 disposals, 87 DT, 2.1) and ClarkeM (19 disposals, 59 DT) polling. Pamcake1 (22 disposals, 5 marks, 76 DT) was also among the best with BFew leading this weeks posting.

After recent events, I think I can say **** THE FURIES! and **** the furies we could not after a 46 point loss while visiting the Hippodrome.

ClarkeM (2 MM votes, 21 disposals, 4 tackles, 84 DT, 2.0) yet again had a ripping game alongside Cubs2Lions (12 hit outs, 19 disposals, 89 DT, 2.1) who had a crack in the ruck and DenieD (25 disposals, 5 marks, 84 DT) out on the wing. ClarkeM also continued to put up a consistent 69 in the match thread posting and led a fairly dull week.

In round seven the Old Boys came to the Colosseum but barely showed up as we put them down by 48 points to try and revive our season.

BFew finally had a big week in front of the sticks with six goals while ClarkeM, BigChippa52, dogs105, Giant YoYo, and Pamcake1 all exceeded 100 dream team points in a massive week with pill in hand.

This seasons winner takes it home for the first time, even though they have been here for a long, long time and is an award that people from opposition clubs and even some from within would probably disagree to give this to them... but they get it anyway!
