Western Border Football League - 2021

Agree with most of this. North always going to McConnell is my point about Noth's best is just get it to McConnell. While West best is J Ransom or Carter linking up,blah blah.
As a football team ready to win a game North are streaks ahead.
Not sure what you mean by players being in trouble. Did you see a bit of sniping or just illegal holding tactics etc.
When all the players come back from their holidays and all those recruits finally find the place...West wait for it.. will shape the five.

Pretty poor North not having one player in inter league. McConnell faking a hammy in the last 2 minutes against west, and kurzman twinging an ankle! Is McConnell jealous he isn't coaching or something? West had five players represent inter league and still won the flag so that shouldn't be his worry. Look at all the years South took the flag out they were always well represented at inter league. POOR by north is all that I can say. Get over yourselves, hope u fall at the last hurdle

f__king p_ss weak north are....no wonder mcconnell was known as a front runner at glenelg cause he still is !!! i hope portland or even the saints do surprise come finals time because those soft as lamb poop players there are c heads at north....desperate times = desperate measure's n your it north *shaking head

north are a disgrace having all there players pull out of the interleague game !no wonder everyone hates them.a chance to represent your league & play on a AFL ground, anyone would play in that game for no match payments (except north players ).a lot to be answered for by north ,starting at the top with their president !sure i remember on the front page of the border watch last year a WBFL delegate strongly endorsing norths new proposed development at vansittart park . bet ya they have probably changed their minds now on that view with north not supporting the WBFL !!!!!!!!!!!

Hang on lets take a step back ??? yes I agree with you it is disappointing for North not to have a representative in the WBFL side but lets look at other clubs such as West Wenman pulled out two weeks ago because of injury but played against North and played very well no sign of injury, josh Ransom also played against North and was close to if not Best on ground both not picked by the Interleague coach both supposedly carrying injuries, and lets go a bit further and look at Portland oh yes Mr England supposedly the best footballer in the league but everytime Interleague comes around he is unavailable due to injury and Imps coach out injuried this week. Senior Interleague is dead unless the WBFL executive grows some b---s and suspends players and this won`t happen. So we all should not get on our high horse and blame one club but seriously look at whether Interleague is important anymore to the modern day player, or do we just play players who still have respect and hungar for Interleague and forget the rest.

Fair enough. But you'd like to see your top side have at least one in the team.
This is the club that wants millions to turn their ground into a sporting Mecca for the region. Go promote the game a bit ya weak pricks.
Boston tiger spot on the money there champ, those front running weak imbosiles might not do any good on the big stage any way you no what happens when the going gets tough in late september a few of the boys go walk about..Rumour has it mconnell had a run in with the league as he was made to wear a short sleeve gurnesy and could not get rugged up like usual with 10 layers of clothing to keep warm.

I am bemused by your comments Snita first you say they are weak Imbeciles (correct way to spell it) and can`t handle the big stage, but yet you won`t them to play for the league on one of the biggest stages Interleague. You can`t have it both ways either they are good pressure footballers or they are weak in which case we don`t want them representing our league do we, so make your mind up which one they are.

Western Border going down by 20 goals to Bellarine is not a good look for the league but it is hardly the demise of the league as suggested by the doomsday predictors....although the mayan calendar ends at 2012.
Top interleague sides are investing 20 to 30 grand into their sides, how much is the western border putting in?

Past it to get things straight my grammar is not of an oxford scholar second what i was saying is why play a bunch of blokes in your wbfl interleague when they cant get a kick when the pressure is on for there home club.

Ahhh if wbfl is serious about this they need to take a carrot and stick approach....incentrive for every player that plays and penalty for every player who is picked but does not play due to a legitimate certified reason...

When an may have been ok against north, but clearly no where near 100%. Ransom wasn't out due to injury either. At least ransom and we man have represented the league before in inter league, unlike McConnell and England. I'm sure they would have played if they could.

apparenty whenman sat in the goal square all day against north & couldnt lift his arms above his shoulders . pretty sure if he wasnt injured he would have played on Mconnell and stopped his dominance like he has in previous games !guessing he only played to give his team mates a lift with his presence knowing a flogging may have been on the cards . As for england i dont think they should ever bother giving that bloke the priviledge of being picked again ! NORTH 5-0 WEST 0-6 / interleague reps -NORTH 0 WEST 1. Lets see how many of them north players sit out this week . Say no more you are definately PAST IT !!!!!

Right on Two thing I am definately past it but I saw the North v West and Whenman did play full forward and took three or four very strong "OVER HEAD MARKS" and lead very well. Was he a 100 PERCENT FIT WHO KNOWS. But my point was if you are fit to play Senior football on the Saturday before Interleague and after then don`t pull out and that includes ALL THE NORTH PLAYERS AS WELL, and why was`nt Josh Ransom picked as I said before he was my choice for BOG that game.Have a lot of players got the pride and the passion to represent this league anymore from what I have seen I would say not.

spoke to an interleague player and he cant understand why people dont play in it, according to the std contract that wbfl players sign for their club there is a clause that says the league can suspend and fine clubs/ players for not playing in those games.

i think 2008 2 portland players did get suspended but had it turn over at an independant tribunal because of a "restraint" of trade as they got paid by club and not league.

generally clubs dont want the stars to play

I remember one year Wade Ryan was suspended for not playing. He was pretty wrapt that he got another weekend off. But that's Wade for you.

With all the talk about north n portland being the so called stand outs and above every one else, where does that leave the saints !? there next big test will be portland at home next week regardless of hopefully a competitive result win lose or draw, are the saints a genuine threat on any given day this yr come finals time.....

I hope Millicent really step up. I know from last year that the West team that hit the finals was 30 to 40 percent better than they were in round one.
Here's hoping that North with their Macconnel based game plan has not much more improvement in it.
Portland I have no idea about but you'd reckon they would be hungry after only finishing third last year.
If its the same coach at Millicent in 2010 then I thought he coached a brilliant Grandfinal and in finals it might be an advantage to have a non playing coach.
Go the Saints

Anyone see the North Portland game.

Portland will be looking to make up for last season after showing alot of promise. You still have to wonder whether they have peaked too early. There is many within the portland camp believe that this is their last year in the wbfl so they will be looking to finish off with a strong season.
Rumour is portland pushed joining the hampden league in 2013 when they met with the vcfl.

East were less than impressive but still a good win by the saints. Michael Bennet will be hard to match up and milera kicked his usual 4 goals. The saints are going to have trouble keeping milera as I hear some clubs are prepared to offer him good $$$$. There is already a few players looking for a new club next year which is strange as we are not even half way through the season and the club is doing well.

Benno and milera will most likely return to adelaide at the end of season. We are expecting to lose around 10 players from the senior squad with retirements, players going to adelaide, few have showed interest at going to tant plus I hear hatherleigh will be flashing a bit coin around.
Main focus is this season and trying to get some silverware in our dust gathering cabinets.

Imperials kicked 34 goals at the weekend while the opposition was not strong that still is a bag of goals maybe a smokey this year. East ans South proved they wont count for much at all as the season goes on!

Easts skills looked pretty average and noone apart from flemming could take a contested mark. It doesn't look like they have a forward option either. Not what you would expect from a club that is supposed to be on their way up.
