1. Maybe
2. No VCFL will close border.
I think it could possibly be a good rivarly.
Didnt think of that.

The Western Border is not going anywhere. Looks like it will be a 9 team comp in the near future, but why does that mean the whole league has to fold. Most leagues only run with 8-9 teams. Take Heywood out of the comp and we would probably have one of the most even competitions going around.
Premiers: West Gambier
Wooden Spooners: Heywood
League Medal: Luke davey
Biggest Improver from 10: Portland
Biggest Slider from 10: Heywood win less
Goal Kicker: Jarryd Ryan
Most expensive team: Hamilton
Most under-rated player: Jon Agnew
Most over-rated player: whole north side
Most loyal player in the league: p beckman
Toughest bloke in the league: butch kennedy
Biggest Sook in the league: Justin McConnell/ butch kennedy
Cant see why Imperials would still want to go. They get flogged in a lesser league, they operate out of a tin shed and in all honestly they would be lucky to have more than 30 supporters attend each game. Doesn't sound like a recipe for success.
With South looking like their time is over after a 20 year dominance all clubs should be as pumped as ever to finally taste a bit of success. The last thing everyone should be talking up is the whole league folding. Why would the VCFL relocate 9 healthy and competetive clubs. Sounds like a bit of an overkill.
Anyway... I think we should do this:
Premiers: West
Wooden Spooners: Heywood
League Medal: England
Biggest Improver from 10: Imperials
Biggest Slider from 10: Heywood
Goal Kicker: Ryan
Most expensive team: Hamilton
Most under-rated player: Ransom
Most over-rated player: Nitschke
Most loyal player in the league: anyone with 10+ yrs consecutive service at 1 club
Toughest bloke in the league: in terms of going in and getting it. Ransom
Biggest Sook in the league: Pick between main NG midfielders
all clear from some of the Heywood boys, couldn't convice em to stay...
Also two up and coming young players in Allan Martin and brother to last seasons captian Aaron Johnstone.
Even more of a grim vision for Heywoods future...
Do you think Millicent will be relying on the younger plays to step up this year in seniours, Joe Walker, Ben Chant, Joe Pratt have all done outstanding pre-season training.Interesting you say that requestingtalent that Millicent may have got the best of out of there gf list last year !? explain please....what makes West too come out king pins and the saint's not !! They'v plateaued basically....lost a couple, gained a couple and still a few uncertainties.
The way i and probably all you know it all's see it, top 5 from last yr will stay the same with competition for that last spot up for grabs !?
How about young Ben Chant?I will be looking forward to seeing how walker goes this season. i think he has got a lot of talent and has a bright future.
hopefully the saints give him a chance to thrive
Musta cost a fair bit to get keegs back on that sinkin ship...
Seein how successful he was last time an all...
Well the main reason I 'jumped off the wagon' was Heywood has made a decision the past few seasons to go chasing players and throwing money at them rather than looking after their locals, shown in the extreme last year, spending thousands and not going to the finals! And having a sh*tload of players take off...i see you have a lot to say about heywood, "showtime", question is why did you jump off the wagon this year?
keegan said himself in the local paper when he got the job that he had learned alot in his time away from heywood...
Someone had to do it! I know of 2 current W/B players from South Aus that were offered $30,000 EACH to coach them this year and they didn't want anything to do with it.
Have heard from a good source that numbers for Hamilton B and 18's aren't looking that good, correct me if i'm wrong! They didn't have good number's for b grade last year, but with the college in Hamilton, both Hamilton team's have always had healthy numbers for there 18's. Did hear they had a camp away to train with the "fly in" recruits near Geelong? Wouldn't you have it in Hamilton? Looks like Russell is only worrying about the seniors, and not worrying about the club as a whole!
I get your point, as they have a lot of recruits, mainly melbourne area, but you have to put the rest of the club up from accomodation and travel, or they probably made them pay their own way!! Can't be good for locals, as i see a few already transfered to impsIf you think about it, the Camp away probably saved them some coin... the boys would self-fund their trip to Geelong, but if they had to get the fly-ins to Hamilton they'd have to pay travel and accommodation????
Premiers:west gambier.the way I see it is that Heywood can either bite the bullet and move within 2 seasons, or struggle through a few more than that and whittle out slowly with not much success for a few years (again).
Casterton-Sanford I think could work and could probly get a fairly decent SW team.
Imps would not make it in the Hampden...
Anyway... I think we should do this:
