Why did the league CEO relocate the WBFL office to Mount Gambier?

It's a conspiracy see, all the SA clubs paid the CEO BIG dollars to move to the Mount so they can influence him to tip the competition in their favour you know exclusion zones, interleague permits. Nah seriously it was always planned to move to the Mount after a period and it is overdue, the new league sponsor just pushed it.

You must be joking slash. GTFO you troll.

Anyway onto WBFL talk. elastoplast cup is coming up. how many clubs will take it seriously and try and win, will most trial their kids or will we see a bit of both?

Think it will be a mixture of both, think east, casterton, heywood, south will play nearly to full strength, Millicent, North, Imps and Hamilton, will also just to see where they are at and to get use to playing with each other. Think Portland and West will play combination of new players and young ones, to see who wants to play senior football. Think it's a waste of time really as a lot of teams dont take it to serious. Think Millicent will take it out.

Only 11 more sleeps to the season kicks of. From what I can see there is still a lot of unknowns how the ladder will shape up. On the Victorian side of the border, Portland looks the team most likely to challege. If their top liners stay fit, they have the mid field to roll West. Hamilton as we all know have same handy recruits, but depth will seriously test them, especially if they get injuries to any of their top 10. Imperials will improve. A couple of key position players will straigten them up, and the youngsters have had a solid pre season, whilst they have also added some depth. How much they improve we'll have to wait and see. Casterton will be competitive as always. Be interesting to see how the Adelaide recruit goes. Will always be tough to be beat at home, but won't win enough games to make the 5. Heywood as previously noted will struggle.
Over in SA, the rumours suggest West will be strong again, while it also looks like North have picked up some handy recruits. Will they finally have the side to take it out, and not fall over when it counts. Millicent, well it's now or never. They have the ageing stars. If they can't take it out this year, when will they get their next shot. East will again test most sides, but will they have enough top liners to go into September. South..... well it finally sounds like their era is over. 20 years at or near the top is huge, but this year they can probably plan an early footy trip.
My top 3
West Portland North
To fight it out for 4&5
Millicent Hamilton East Imps
Bottom 3
South Casterton Heywood.

Souths era over, they lose players every year and still come up with a good side? Millicent's aged stars??? When will they get their next shot? Agnew, Sullivan, Ridley Bothers, Gascoyne, Murray, Robbins, Walker, Pratt, Hutchesson Brothers all under 25.
You better stop drinking light beer, its clogging your skull

Dont forget to add Chant to that list. Also the new guy the Saints have picked up from the Hampden league is only 18 as well apparently.

Sorry to talk footy and have an opinion. Wasn't aware that the above were all stars and under 25. Murray, Gascoyne, Agnew are all guns, so perhaps you/ve got a good point. As for South, you're right, they have been able to replace what they have lost over the years, but appears to me that this time, I think they will struggle make the 5.

Would agree that Murray, Gascoyne and Agnew are good players, but for the rest, they're kids, they have a long way to go without much experience at the moment. South have lost a lot, but i think will just scrape into the finals. Millicent haven't been that active in the recruiting area, but if they do snag a couple more they'll have another shot at the title, but depth will hurt, and if they loose either Murray or Gascoyne, think they will have trouble putting a score on the board as they rely on them 2 heavily

Tell me more about the others you have mentioned. As far as I know, they haven't achieved any great feats. They are young, talented, but stars. C'mon.

Well Jack Sullivan was one of the Saints best in both the GF and Prelim final last year and had a very good season.

Dylan Ridley, if my memory is correct, was in the Western Border interleague squad last season despite still being eligble for U/18's. Had a brillant start to the year last year before tapering off a little. Added a pretty good 33 goals during the year as well. Behind only Murray and Gascoyne I believe.

Also Ryan Hutchesson had a pretty good year last year providing dash off half back.

The crap spun by Rod Morris last year would have you believe that all Millicent is is a team of old timers, while in reality they have some very very good young players.

Plenty of youth down at Millicent

-18 Chant, Walker, Dylan/Andrew Ridley, Pratt, T.Hutcheson,

18-22 Angew, Sullivan, Murray, Gascoyne, R.Hutcheson, Duncan, McGrath, Thwaites, ( Heard about 3 recruits in this age bracket Yet to see them on the training track)

Looks like half the side will be under the age of 22. Dont think millicent will be old and slow as everyone is expecting.

SAINTS IN HEAVEN 2011
