They’re going to have to wait for the steam to stop coming from their ears before they get to picking

Well one of the guys I wanted is still there.

Western Bulldogs select Jesse Dattoli.

A creative and classy small forward, Dattoli can crumb, can mark, can man a pocket, can run in a half-forward role, and can take a centre bounce. My best talent available at this pick, Dattoli's a great list fit to pair with Cody Weightman up forward.

It was a toss up between Shanahan and Dattoli at pick 20, and I'll admit my decision was at least a little influenced by the expectation that Dattoli was the other one you wanted.

If you'd gone Hannaford and Dattoli I think my choice would have to have been Tom Gross and I wouldn't have been happy about it.

TiAn_ Richmond next, right?

Yeah I’m not sure how to do that via my phone
I'm happy to do it. By my reckoning up to round 3 it should be:

ROUND 1
22 Richmond
23 Sydney
24 Richmond
25 GWS
26 Sydney
27 Richmond
ROUND 2
28 Richmond
29 Western Bulldogs
30 West Coast
31 Port Adelaide
32 Fremantle
33 St Kilda
34 Hawthorn
35 Western Bulldogs
36 Port Adelaide
37 GWS
38 Carlton
39 Essendon
ROUND 3
40 Sydney
41 Geelong
42 Essendon
43 St Kilda
44 Western Bulldogs
45 Port Adelaide
46 Collingwood
47 Essendon
48 Essendon
49 Collingwood
50 GWS
51 Geelong
52 Collingwood
53 Sydney

Happy to be corrected though if I missed something.

Pick 22 - Richmond - Hamish Davis
Claremont Tigers, 190cm Midfielder/Forward

A few Sandgropers out, a couple back in for the Tigers. I think Davis has the highest ceiling of the players still on the board. A hard running goal kicker at half forward, with the versatility, frame and smarts to become a big bodied midfielder in a few years.

Sydney just got very very excited.

Luke Trainor come on up and help us fix our backline. After being a top 10 lock for the majority of the year, Trainor done banged his head again. He could credibly drop to Sydney in the real thing. They’ll eat his arm off to get him in if he does (and assuming his medicals have been going ok). Perfect fit for the club and they “can’t believe he got to us at our pick”.

It'll be very interesting to see how far he drops due to the concussions. After seeing O'Driscoll retire after one I'd be passing on him. Some team might get a bargain though.

I had him in mind if he slipped through to the second round, but the Tigs already have Gibcus who can’t get on the park.

We love to try these bargain rehab picks here in Sydney 🤣

If anyone is going to take the risk I see it being Beatson.

Pick 24 - Richmond - Jack Whitlock
Murray Bushrangers, 200cm Key Forward

Considered getting a little bit cute here and picking another player in the hope Whitlock would get past GWS and Sydney, who’ve both already taken KPPs. But ultimately decided it’s not worth the risk as I see a gap between him and the next KPF, Jonty Faull. Jack is a really good height for a modern KPF, has a great leap and is very agile. He’s already solid and looks to have a frame that will fill out nicely. Would give the Tigers a genuine successor to Tom Lynch and could play alongside him in the meantime, likely further up the ground.
