They will all get off.

Rightly so and if they don't the league is going backwards at a faster pace then anyone realises. On a further note to that they seriously need to look at the three umprie policy because it DOES NOT WORK.

Let the game go rather then compete for showtime on the big stage by seeing who can get the most attention by paying free kicks. It was frustrating just watching the game without a heavy beer to see so many ticky tacky free kicks. The crowds will get smaller:thumbsdown:

light beer in cans not the best taste could only manage 1, did happen to see full strength emptys laying around so not to sure the security looking to hard.

Ha ha security. On Sunday they wanted to check my boot for alcohol at Altona. No alcohol but a bag of knives straight from the movie psycho and destined for the second hand shop had opened up and was clearly sprawled all over the boot. No worries as long as there were no alcohol in there.

General 1965 - Skinners reserve was magnificent to play on and spectate.

Not much talk about the Send Offs/Reports from Sunday's Game. I assume both Wiggins and Quinn (and their 2 opponents) knocked back the automatic 2 weeks and will be testing their luck at the WRFL Tribunal ? Has anyone heard ?

why wouldn't they knock back the 2 when they know the league will not support the people they appoint to adjudicate the game on their behalf.any wonder they have trouble recruiting umpires when they get made to look like fools time and again when players tread the tribunal route when it suits at the right time of the year and know more than likely they will get off.

When Is the Barry Priest Medal Night and where is is being held.
Wondering who will win it??

Not sure when or where.

Bloomfield - Albion (kicks bags)
Douglas - Sunshine (consistent and proven vote getter)

Think Spotty players take to much off each other but Lewis, McGhie (started year on fire) or O'Keefe.

Roughie: Reece Miles

The best player in the wrfl, still as a bit to learm in my opinion but is so so strong through his core, very quick and brave. i love watching him play!!

No matter what the umps will get it right they always do:thumbsu::thumbsu:

Just like when they chose that strawberry blonde full forward a few years ago.......................:thumbsu:

Give me a call when you can Rock......:D

But the umps are their own worst enemy as well both reports in that inicdent (there were 2) were striking unknown player??? if they have hit each other how could the other player be unknown, therefore there is no way a witness can be called or anything. Then the umps wonder why the player gets off. After seeing all 4 reports on sunday, i think they were all over zealous.
Agree with TTR the 3 ump system didn't work on sunday - at time all three didn't know who was doing what, then other times 3 umps were umpiring in the same area. All a bit confusing

Was more than a little confused in Saturday's game when O'Donnell gave free down one end of the ground and then he's down the other end giving another one not long after...to the same side. I thought Umps have their zones and maintained their third or half depending on how many there are. Understand if they spot a free because their in better position but two umps within 10 metres of each other? Can anyone shed any light on that one?

Also saw a pretty funny one. 'The Bolt' (Manton) had a wrestle with Jensen. Rayzor gets up, Manton's holding onto his leg and keeps holding on. The Ump is watching, Rayzor can't run to the ball because Manton's got his leg. Ump is still watching and no free. Is it just me or this a grey area?

Not that they're not supported... they should just worry about giving evidence on not concern themselves with the result... up to the league/ tribunal to decide who gets weeks based upon the evidence... they really shouldn't care if someone gets off

Pretty sure they don't stay in those zones for a whole quarter... would mean the guy in the middle would do a hell of a lot of work compared to the 2 guys inside 50... and from my knowledge, no such thing as zones when there's 2 umps out there... may be the case in 3, can't say I've noticed

I seen another good one on Sunday when a free kicked was payed against Sunshine because that umpire said they were both holding each other...............

See what you mean but still find it unusual that one ump would be bolting down the other end when another was already within the vicinity of the ball. Surely if there is no formal 'area' the umps would have an understanding of who goes where.

So what happened at the Tribunal ? I checked the 2010 Tribunal News on the WRFL Website but it was only up to Round 3 (30th April) so this weeks Tribunal Results should be published by about 2017 !!!

Funny thing happened at the game on Sunday. Patrick Wiggins plays with a glove on one hand ?

Had he just completed 9 holes at Werribee Park ? No!

Had he been to a Michael Jackson Memorial Concert ? No!

or

Had he arrived at the ground on Sunday with a premeditated intention to strike his opponent and when subsequently reported and choosing to attend the tribunal he was going to use the "which hand was the glove on?" defence ?

What do you think ?

Filo - you are into conspiracy theories !!

will he be playing in the western region next year

Why wouldnt he be playing at St.Albans? Reading through your previous quotes, You must be from Melton South must be happy with Michael Spooners season considering the money your club payed him.

I like your theory!! However Wiggins has worn a glove all season - sorry to stop a good story lol...
Also Quinn and Wiggins both got off with a reprimand.

Typical WRFL went weak at the knees to add hype to this weeks final. Wiggins to play on Mangan this week and won't be any threat of kicking a bag. Regardless of the lack of suspensions - Spotswood to win easily over Sunshine who will struggle to match Spotswood midfield.

Had opportunities to play else where this year for good money. I know altona tried for family connection but stayed to play with mates. Why would he want to leave now when they are on the way up. Should go very close to the priest medal maybe Bloomfield or O'keef mite just pip him.

You obviously didn't see the game on Saturday. The Spotswood midfield were comprehensively beaten and all looked, maybe even played injured. Going to be a huge game this week. Being a Woods supporter, even I am a touch nervous. Thought the bench was very under-utilised on Saturday and that Albion were miles ahead in this area. Definitely some food for thought!

Spotty did look a little leg heavy in both games last week. Maybe over done on the track, but don't think that will happen this week. Looks like rain and wind on sat. Spotty would be better off leaving out Jensen and Hucker and bringing in the 2 young runners from the Jets. Although with Razor being their spiritual leader i can't see him missing. So would it be Bond and Hucker for Delaney and Orchard? Or maybe some other lighter and quicker bodies. Decisions, decisions.
