Fair enough x box i respect your reply no need to go into his personal life re his honeymoon........why he missed games

we all know that he was on the bulldogs list (obviously he can play) and we all know he has had 5 clubs in 5-6 years Parkside,Keilor,OEG,Kyneton now Deer Park

All your doing is down grading the competition WRFL divi 2 you sound like its the worst competion in local merto football which it is far from, yes there is a few struggling sides like every other local comp, going around but mate pay abit of respect to the teams who will finish in the top 3-4

You sound like you know Condos pretty well, can you please answer me this why hasnt Jimmy chose a Agrade club, say Keilor and taken the competion by the scruff of the throat obviously he has the ability to be a 100 goal kicker in a Agrade team this i believe would be more challenging/rewarding for him in years to come he would be a icon in local football

I think he has plenty of years infront of him to make good coin in divi 2 football

cheers

Why do you think this bloke has had 5 clubs in as many years?
There is no doubt based on his ability he could contribute and be a good player in any Division 1 league, but maybe that's too hard for him?
Maybe he lacks in other area's such as application & mental toughness. I don't think anyone could be crucified for asking if JC has taken the easy way out.
In saying that good on D.Park for securing JC services, he will clearly be a gun player in Div.2. , but that's all he will be, a WRFL Division 2 Gun player, and that is nothing to hang your hat on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mate well put.
At the end of the day, all, he, and most of DP recruits are, are mersonaries. Money hungery people who ONLY play for $$$$$$$.
If this is what DP are doing to secure a spot in Divi 1 then they have not got any faith in there juniors getting them into Divi 1 (the best way), and thats with the youh of the club not bloody buying players.
But on the other hand JC is a gun and would be a great asset to any club.
Well but for how much.
Also who is coaching the Resies at DP.

Cash dont buy culture and Cash dont buy good blokes. So do you think when GA leaves the blokes will stay. I dont think so.

Why is everyone having a crack at Deer Park and JC for recruiting as all clubs do? North won a flag last year because they recruited well Kater, Lusher, Arnott, Curtis, Munn, Stewart, Davis all would be in Norths top ten in B'n'F last year. So good on North and good luck to Deer Park and Albanvale who have also recruited well.

sorry dont get to watch much seniors, how are wyndhamvale looking? are they progressing at all? do they have any top 5 chances this year or in the near future?

I have a cricket team to worry about i have been training with a few clubs.Looking at a few Div 1 Clubs or head to country. Money was good at west but respect is a big thing and i don't think i have it at west after trying to teach the young fellasthe game for the last few years i don't think i should be on the outer ahh well thats life Cricket is priority atm.Go Ashfield. It would be good to see Cuzza n Scolder back playing what west needs hopefully the young fellas get inspired

Sunbury Kangaroos for you in 2011 Western Star 33.

Big chance for the premiership in 2011.

I have read with interest several narrow minded postings in regards to recruiting the course Deer Park are taking. I am not involved with Deer Park, and this year will have very little club involvement total.
First of all it is every clubs responsibility to them selves and the league they play in to recruit and retain the best available talent they can, as well as develop their players so that one day those players can have the opportunity to play at a higher level. I don't believe any club would live hoping to just be ok in Div 2. They all want to improve.
If a club has the opportunity to bring in a major contributor and an ex VFL player who is a local footy gun, why would you knock them, as i am guessing that with dollars tight for most clubs they would welcome such occurance with open arms.
The better the players you can bring into your club, regardless of how you get them there, the better the club will be in most cases. If these players are training then they should contribute to a higher level of training. On game days, fringe players will be able to better contribute as they have better players getting them the ball. If these guys help the clubs win more games or increase the optimism around the club, more people may stick their head in for a look, which can lead to more money for the club. Parents are going to be keen for their kids to play in the juniors of a successfull well run club.
But it should also offer a challenge for all other clubs to either improve the way they go about things, or recruit better players, or even better, improve their coaching to better understand the way football is heading and get them to develop the players accordingly.
At the end of the day, the more quality players coming into the league the better everyone will be!

You are obviously living in wonderland.
Local footy has spiralled into WHOEVER PAYS THE MOST WINS! Good on Deer Park, they will be a good team this year purely on the basis that they can offer more money than anyone else. Do you honestly think if let's say Parkside offered the same deal as D.Park that he James would be at Deer Park? It's the same in the EDFL,EFL & SFL. I re-iterate, I am not having a go at Deer Park as any club with the finances would do the same, but the fact is, it is an unfair playing field and 70% of all clubs who don't have the finances just can't compete and have a chance to "recruit" the better players because it's all about $$$. Community footy - what a joke!
Off the subject for a minute - Don't take C.Springs lightly this year, some major things happening there in the past week or so.

bit hypocritical dont you think???

In general i would agree that the clubs that spend the most money are more likely to have success, but i dont think that its black and white that the club that spends the most wins the flag.

Everyone is taking like Deer Park have already won it

Last year from what i was told Parkside spent around 80K, i know my club didnt even spend half that and were more than competitve and from my knowledge North Footscray spent 25K ( and won it )

I think it is how you spend it not what you spend. We have a lot of players that could get alot more money and other clubs ( even some of our new recruits this year were offered alot more money at other clubs )

I think the actual club itself and how well they can "sell" the club has alot to do with it.

parkside have spent 92k and 86k on duds in the last 2 years are still rotting in divvy 2 and will continue to rot until they make some big changes

Not hypocritcal i don't think. Clubs all try to develop their kids and hope they will get a good group that will come through together. But this will take time. If you recruit quailty players who play at a higher standard than your general run of the mill senior player, these kids should develop at a faster rate. If the side is winning, and they are part of a winning side, they will take confidence from that. It is also interesting how many kids get to play rep footy from winning sides, or competitive sides when they are playing seniors while still U 18.
Then, if the other guys move on, you hope that they are more than ready to take up the gaps being left and you may only need to find a couple of players to fill holes, not half a team.

That is how it works in theory, but in practice is a completely different scenario.

Sorry choof I am not involved at deer park, only played against them a couple of times.
I am no longer directly involved in the wrfl but still like to keep an eye on both divisions, from a professional point if view.

They might not be duds but if you have spent over 80K a year on players when your main competition is spending 30K they are overpaid!

"with any LUCK you would have won a flag" spending that much money you shouldnt need LUCK.

If my club had 80-90K to spend when others are spending half or less i would expect my club to be unbeatable.:thumbsu:

Lets get some footy talk going. What practice matches do sides have lined up.

I believe Albanvale have 4 against, Tungamah ( Yarrawonga ) Taylors Lakes, Anglesea and Glenroy.

Where are parkside getting this supposed 80 - 90 grand?

d/p have a new signing......retired last season from an interstate afl club......stay tuned......will be able to play 9 games+finals...........

Why only 9 game+ finals weapons ? other commitments ? maybe its Goodwin ??

Goodwin has signed with Greenvale in EDFL.

It must be Broadie Holland  hey Weapons. haha:):thumbsu:

But then again im sure there is a line of retired AFL stars just itching to play WRFL div 2. :)
