'What goes up, must come down!' it wont be a training drill for dp or the 'paul' 'he is deer park' condos show next year! Although a wrfl goal kicking record is on the cards this year! And may well be the best forward ever to play d2, but cant see him topping aaron james, or another half dozen past big forwards in d1 of recent. My 'opinion'. And im not a tenth as good or skilled. Thats just what i think. Nth supporters were the same last year... And orden years before that... Whats that old show on telly? 'where are they now'?

I wouldnt read too much into margins between teams.

For example, Albanvale are good at burying opposition when they get on top. Look at last year, they beat North Sunshine by 400+ points, North Footscray didnt do the same, however North Footscray were easily better than Albanvale all year.

lavo tried n it was a close game till half time, unfortunatley for lavo west come out n won the game by simply wanting the ball more (spot on thommo) Number 15 and i think 7 or 9 the half forward was good all day. Driver and id say you Thommo tried hard and never gave up but there was not enough helpers (hope ur ribs are ok to mate)

inclusions of the full forward Harris who kicked 7, Asher our chb and another great young onballer/half forward Backus was a big help. A specail mention to young Brown with 5 goals (best game to date) and Speaks who i believe was outstanding all day. i had a good day out ths week and i enjoyed playing in the ruck for a change.

Being called grandpa all day was comical too cheers mate

I wouldnt read to much results from previous years. Albanvale's side this year is completely different with about 10 new inclusions.

I think you will find inside Albanvale although winning have not been overly satisfied with the form they have showed. Its just the last 2 weeks key players have returned and the side is starting to jell more. We are expecting to improve alot more than what we have shown in the first half of the season .

I would be interested to hear Evo thoughts on the game on Saturday as I heard they had a pretty big build up to the day being the match of the round and having the radio guys there

I had a look at the fixture and tried to work out the ladder by the end of the season, heres my opinion on how it will end up

1. deer park 16 wins
2. cobras 13+ wins
3. yarra 10+ wins
4. parkside 10+ wins
5. coburg 9 wins (only % over west)
6. west 9 wins
7. lavo 8- wins
8. wyndham 7+ wins

Its obvious the 4 teams that will make it but I believe for 5th spot the team will need 9 wins and it might still come down to % at the end

I just doubt wyndham and lavo can get the 9 needed. lavo have more of a chance to sneak in but need to pick up there game a bit

west and Coburg will have the biggest match of the year to fight for that 5th spot on offer in round 12.
Right now on form both teams should win 3 games min by the end of the season and theres 2 maybe wins available, all depending how the teams play on the day.
Obviously 1 maybe win will be against each other and could mean the difference between the clubs playing finals footy for 2011

If anything you would think that west and vales have the better chance of making it on the 8 or 9 wins to get you through.
We have all of nth sunshine, braybrooke, Caro springs, Laverton and crunch games with Coburg and Parkside in the rest of the season and I would imagine there could be a larger possibility of winning 4 out of 5 of those and more so considering we have had a fair chunk of our key players out for the last 5 weeks and they should all be up and running over next few weeks, and we also have the Yarra game at our ground that they have never won at so I would think that would hopefully put us in good contention to play finals.
Personally I think top 3 stay the same with us and west or Parkside to fill the last 2 finals spots. IMO
On our game last week it was dissapoibting to let the score blow out in the last the way it did but all credit to Albanvale and D.C. They were stronger over the ball and broke through our first tackle to often which resulted in then having more time and numbers around the ball. We do expect this sort of things with our group as we are still young and body strength is not all there yet. Alb used the ball really well on our ground and were great on the day. We still showed some great glimpses of football and our challenge is to do it more often against the top sides. But like all thing in football easier said than done. I am just hoping to get a crack at alb at the business end of the year as are all our boys as we really want to play the better sides and we will continue to improve.
Radio game was great at our ground and I thank kev and the boys for doin such a great job and for giving me a good time in the chair with the mic haha.
Deer park for us this week so who knows how things will go... I know we won't die wondering haha

I said this based on form as of now and it was my opinion Anything can happen in footy on the day.

falcons have 5 wins and you dont play Car Springs so u only have 2 wins and 1 maybe against lavo. unsure about coburg cos i havent played them as yet. but you wont beat parkside Yarravile or deerpark in my opinion. so you only get 8 wins max (5 key players back in might help tho)

falcons beat lavo and coburg, then west fight with them for the 5th spot and 9 wins. like i said on form i dont think you can do that.

This is just my opinion, Maybe have a look at the fixture again mate.

Theres nothing wrong with optimism or backing your club either

Hey guys agree with most of your predictions although I think you may be selling districts short yes we play three of the top teams but apart from deer park have either matched or have played better at times than some of the top sides discipline and concentration cost us huge game against lavo this week get past the next fortnight or so and will be right there look for a big game out of joey cali this weekend he can and will lead us to finals big wes and spud will hopefully dominate the Ariel stuff with Rick elkins lukey j disco and pippa to run rampant over the lavo mids watch also for adem bektash he is due for a huge game

let it be known weapo is on a comeback trail......very unfit hahaha but ill have a crack to get a game in by the years end!!!! possibly a finals gig!!!

Always informative and insightful this thread. I live in Werribee so I read the local rag and love keeping track of the local comp and don't care alot for D1 for no real reason. Thought I'll throw my two cents in.
Deer Park: Obviously the strongest. I hope they win and I like what they have done. Get good players, win a flag and get to D1. Hopefully they go well up there. Jimi condos, yeah he's a gun but 100 goals in ten games is massive. Ya still have opponents each week. Awesome
Nth Sunshine: sad, just sad. I umpired a game once. It was a 16's game out there. Filled in because the umpire didn't show. The club dead then. This was five years ago. Nothing has changed. Can they merge. I'm not sinking the boots in because I love an underdog, but with no money and other teams locally doing better and using all the good kids they will always struggle. Good luck but they need assistance.
Laverton: I was approached to play for this mob over the summer. My first thought was, **** no not lavo. But after chatting with Justin I actually gave it thought. This bloke from an outsiders perspective is everything this club has missed. A bloke dedicated to the club and a really positive figurehead for a club that has had a shithouse rep. They may not win a flag for years but with someone like this at your club good people will follow. Well done Justin on the way you portray your club.
Wyndhamvale: my home town. A club that once was a haven for drunk ****s and shut footballers that could throw a clip from behind. You wouldn't have sent ya dog down let alone your gun 16 year old son. The times changed. The club bought in Evo. A fat bloke who wears his heart on his sleeve and plays like a skinny 18 year old. Changed the club. Simple as that. He sells this club in s way that makes kids want to go there to play. Hamilton,Cachia,moli,Reschke,barrilaro,evans. All great kids from a much stronger club in Werribee centrals that in previous eras would not have given the falcons a thought. Luke is also a great fella and the perfect bloke to relate to the young group. They may push for finals this year but this group with a few top ups over summer will be top three next year. Kids will always be up and down and the job for Luke is to close the big gap between their best and their worst.

You seem to get dumber the more serious you try and be. Fact is the incident was flared by your great coach carrying on like a pork chop hurling abuse at our boys on and off the field at half time. And when a few of our supporters got stuck into him he couldnt handle it and starting talking violence, this fueled the bandwagon jumpers into getting aggresive. As the coach of the club, he carried on poorly. As for Evo, I'll let him explain his side of the story.

bzzzzzzz i did see the ruckmen holding his jaw at 3 1/4 time...if it was broken i doubt he would have kept playing!!!....didnt see the incident so cant comment there were a few scuffles nothing out of the ordinary imo......and yeah who ever pushed him fell for the oldest trick in the book!!!!it was good to get the 100 out of the way early.....

14 goals to 8 after 1/4 time interesting that 5 of those were from 5o metre penalties from 1 umpire who was trying to make the game closer.....blatently!!!!

Now let me get one thing out of the way first... Deer park are a very, very good side with an awesome ability to move the football from end to end, Jimmy condos is a ripping player that was probably not as dominant as he could have been and deer park have a depth of good players that will prob win the flag..... So well done to deer park on the win yesterday...
Now weapons, firstly prob not worth you saying to much about people acting like that as if anyone at the vales known it was you at the canteen hurling abuse at out players walking into their rooms I an sure you may have not been able to hold that child you had with you for the rest of the day. Secondly our blokes handled themselves throughout the day really well but were obviously beaten by a vastly Betty side but we attacked the BALL all day and didnt let d/p stand over us at all. I hope we get a chance to play them again this year as I would love to be on the field against them along with a fair few of our best that were not out there yesterday.
Now to the incident.... Jimmy must have let something get to him because he certainly was letting fly with the comments maybe it was because a 17 great Bachman had held him to only 1 goal in the 2nd quarter. But anyway he was threatening violence against our supporters and I heard him and had told him pretty straight forwardly to shut up unless he was going to do something about his supporters who had ran on the yield when he kicked his 100 and decided to push in the head and shape up to a 17 yo kid playing on condos but he and d/p would certainly not care about that hey as long as no crap comes to their golden child Jimmy. Now that juiced up, w***er with all the earrings and the red jumper who did the to our kid and also pushed me and had a dip at me along with the two steroid riddled tossbags that were there think yourselves lucky as if I was not representing the club I and others at our club would have loved to have a dip at you. What needs to happen but will not because d/p don't care is their supports and club should let it be known that you do not accept supporters running on the field having a go at opposition players....
And weapons I certainly don't give 2 hoots what people think of Me or what IT looked like on Saturday fact is I was having a dip at Jimmy about controlling his club after he decided to let fully with a bit of abuse. But all in all weapo who gives a fat rats cracker we are all men and it ended at 5 pm yesterday. We will not be taking things any further and I am sure deer park won't waste 2 seconds thought on the vales or our supporters. So that is the end of it.

Once again it as good by our blokes to play the best and see what we have to be like to get that illusive flag. Well done deep park on a solid game of Footy and getting together an awesome team hopefully we can have another crack at u guys before the year is out.
