I heard the coach did a ring around to try find some players to make it a good hit outFirst 3 quarters was reserves, CS up 10goals to 2 at half time then the seniors come out but plenty missing from both sides. Nice night for a beer though. Glenordens lights weren't too flash would of been better of using torches.

Whats the go with Spotswood? Have heard they contacted Avondale Heights and informed them that they couldn't field a reserves side for todays practice match. AH are not happy as now have a surplus of players needing a hit out. Pretty piss poor really.
Not only them a couple other clubs struggling to get numbers also, question why is it piss poor ? If clubs haven't got numbers what are they supposed to do call on supporters to pull boots on ,now that would have been a good work out for them

Don't think its too unreasonable to expect 2 full games 1 week out from the start of the season. They were offered the option of playing 2's & 1's combined over 6 terms but refused. How are they going to go getting 2's players in the depths of winter?
Maybe think outside the square ? Last chance seconds blokes to work overtime earn a quid before playing with mates for love of club or take easy option ask big dollars in division 2and 3 and become a mercenary to make up miss salary ,good on them for being loyal to there club

What's going on at Spotty? Such a stable well run club for a long time who were never short of players or desperate for a $. Is Newport down the road having an effect on numbers?

Went out to Hoppers to watch the game today. The Warriors looked pretty crisp. Seemed somewhat wasteful going inside F50, maybe a little rushed, but definitely had the measure of St Albans in the first half and stepped it up in the second half to cruise home. Mead was very classy, as was Armstrong-Weston and Ferrari down back took intercept after intercept. If his team mates had have stayed out of Viola's way, he could easily have ended up with a lot more than his couple of goals. I thought Hill was pretty good for St Albans, as well as Pickering who worked his back side off in the mid.
