All Contracts have been signed and agreed too mid November they signed every player from this year, so please provide some names of these so called Hoppers Players that have a grievance with their contracts.
i think the problem for Deer Park maybe a bit more serious, as they probably will be scratching for a Reserves team every week and with them having to pay Reserves players this will come under the salary cap as well. If you forfeit 2 weeks in a row its asta la vista baby !

Spotswood, Port Colts, Parkside, Hoppers Crossing all had dominant periods where they could offer players more than other rival clubs at the time. Deer Park are currently having a dominant period which won't last forever. Keep in mind Deer Parks first 4 Premierships of the 6 were won by playing within the same rules as all Premiership Teams prior to the salary cap being introduced in 2017. They won 2017 by less than a goal & 2018 they finished 2nd or 3rd then went on to win the Premiership. So I wouldn't go as far to say they've screwed local footy in just 2 seasons.

Jordan Mead had concussion issues and thats why he didn't play any finals this year, I guess to fit in a couple of new recruits you need weigh up what and where the current list sit and how influential some players on the current list will be. Mead is a very good player and enjoys the Hoppers Crossing environment so thats why he is staying.
Contract reviews unfortunately see some players get a reduction from the previous year due to performance, attitude etc;
The List is still quite young at Hoppers and they need to keep what they have and build on that with a couple of very good players.

My understanding Hoppers offered Redpath $10,000 signon plus $1500 a game before Deer Park came along.
Any truth to my info??

20k sign on and 2k a game = 56k if he plays every game.

100% agree here..... This was all after “RULES” were applied to the league. Forget the past, what’s done is done, but as soon as the Salary Cap was introduced following the flawed points system, one would think this was gonna come and bite you on the arse at some stage?
To have the arrogance and scoff at this will be the undoing of a whole lot of “Great Work” by a foootball Club and it’s benefactor....
First time poster and wow what a lot on here about Deer Park so here’s my 2 bobs worth.
Redpath offer from H/Xing was $10k and $1k/game, Deer Park doubled the offer so $56k
Stewart had to pay the $15k back to Keilor to stay and sponsor pays him $30k along with $1k/game so his package is worth almost $60k when you add in the $600/game on his contract.
2 players earning greater than 50% of the salary cap, don’t know how they are going to fit all the other players in at $250 each per game with no sign on
Deer Parks first 4 premierships were legitimate as no salary cap and they scraped in with the points once this was introduced, even though they spent around the $400k mark for each of these.
Their last 2 were by ways of blatantly cheating and they will get caught out due to paying over the salary cap.
4 investigators working on Deer Parks payments at the moment with a little break for Xmas as they have so many people to interview and they are slowly getting down to their demise.
The only issue now is the penalty that will be imposed on them, AFLVIC with WRFL will probably give them a slap on the wrist yet everyone would be expecting at least their last 2 premierships taken off them and not to be able to play for premiership points in the whole of 2019

The Greatest penalty will be them being officially outed as cheats. Not to mention the hangers on having their egos deflated after the constant spruiking of how great they are. Make that were.
Should be relegated to div 3 and loss of last 2 premierships make a statement

If found guilty it will be something along the lines of
-last 2 flags taken off them

-recommendation from the investigating team that President and football manager be removed
-also if coach knew he will be suspended for 3/5 weeks

I understand moving forward the penalty will become the great debate and if being found guilty (stigma) will be enough of a penalty. However if the greater football community need a strong message sent, I hope jobbytonny you are not determining the penalty.

If/when the findings become public and Deer Park are found to be over the salary cap they deserve to penalised heavily. Reading some of the comments on here there are a few that are calling for some severe penalties such as playing for no points in 2019 and relegation. If what I'm being told is correct there is now 2 Div 1 clubs found to be over the salary cap not including Deer Park so it would seem 3 clubs may be found guilty. Considering only a handful of clubs are being investigated it's not a good look for the WRFL and will leave those in charge at HQ with some serious decisions to make.

Gotta agree, a bit of a limp slap with a tiny wet fish there, jobbytonny. 10k fine, have a look at the reported rorting, that would just cover the sign on for a low range player!! President, football manager and major money source forced out AND warned off any AFL grounds. Any coaches and non-cooperative players out for a year minimum, just as bad as Essendon doping. If they are guilty and the limp slap with a tiny wet fish happens then the AFL Vic, WRFL and rules are a joke. If other clubs are guilty then there should be proportional penalties based on their intent and extent, no favourites or scapegoats. Well that's my ranting over with, go back to yelling at TV news now.

If 3 clubs then are to be proven to be over the salary cap, do they all get the same punishment? DPFC will be licking there lips if there not the only club to have infringed.
Cheating is cheating but whether you finish 7th of 1st and you over spend whats fair punishment?
