As a mutual observer I was extremely impressed with how Deer Park stood up when it seemed they had no hope of winning the premiership. Probably the best local Grand Final I've seen in a very long time. Would you like to explain how Deer Park showed a lack of class? From my observations if any club was to be accused of showing a lack of class it would be Altona. 7 consecutive flags is a massive achievement which has never been achieved before in metro football which should be respected and acmenowledged. Comments regarding money is completely irrelevant. There was no salary cap during their first 4 premierships and they definitely shouldn't have won the first one being 40 odd points down at half time. There is no way they would've spent over the cap this season with all the heat surrounding them and the point system restricted their recruiting pre-season so not sure why people still doubt what they have achieved. I've never been a huge fan of Deer Parks but after what I witnessed Saturday my opinion has changed slightly. Each to their own though.
As for there being no way that they were over the spend, I said earlier that a monkey with an abacus could beat the investigators so regardless of the heat, it wouldn't have been hard to hide spending over the cap. The cap is being imposed by an organisation that just can't monitor it and the clubs know it.
You can't overplay how restricted they are at recruitment time. You only need to look at the quality of their 14 1 pointers who took the field and then compare them to other teams. It seems they only need to top up every year. The real test in recruiting will come when the 1 pointers begin to retire or move on. If they manage that well, all power to them.
I have no problem acknowledging the players for their role in the win.
None prior in the final or none prior during the season? If you think that them being thrown together in the middle is a master stroke and one out of the box, you're easily pleased and haven't paid attention. I wonder if the DP coach thought it was the move of a great footy brain to put 3 players of that calibre into the middle at the start of the last quarter of a GF? Nah, no need to answer that.
By the way, the money being paid is irrelevant. The fact is that the coach has the luxury of playing the likes of McKenzie, Kwame, Mills, Stewart, Kelm, Greenough, Krithararis, Byrnes and even Harrison and Bruin in the middle in any combination and still be confident that they could do some damage at the bounce. That's a fair number. Name any other side in the league that has the same number and calibre of options.
As for Barling going to CHF, I’ll have to have a look at the last quarter to see if it was a piece of coaching brilliance that you say it was. Who is Moose?

I don’t think any one is jealous they are just pissed off knowing that deer park had to buy their premierships with overtop payments that’s twice as much as what everyone else is spending
And don’t say they aren’t over the salary cap it’s just that they all lied good enough to get it over the investigators
