Beazer, I take it you've got a couple of runs under your belt back at hoppers now. Can you spread any light on the issue of this being Frosty's last year as coach, with the player from S.A.N.F.L to take over in 2010. As well as 2009 being Taylors last season?

Havent been to training yet. Im working in Adelaide atm so Ive been doing my own training here. Havent heard any of the above comments. Maybe somebody else can answer them.

I dont think it has been confirmed by anyone that this is Jacks last year as coach, I would think if we were to have a successfull year he will stay on as coach.... no reason for him to move on and I dont think there is anyone at the club that wants to see this happen!

Training has been super enthusiastic and there is alot going on, we have 50-70 on the track every night with probably 20 or so being under 18s... I think just about every senior player has been spotted at training or has done most sessions including new recruits.

Last season the forward line was the weakness, this coming season it will be by our strongest line...

Lets be serious the only training you would be doing is in the bar!!

Callum Urch has also been seen at a number of dinners with the head honcho's from Marbi Park!

Wasn't he due to play in the WRFL next year with Spotty or Colts?

I don't think he is the type of person to go just for the money, although he will command a decent sum and deservedly so.
I hear he is heading to darley to play with a few mates, hopefully where ever he plays his body can hold up, coz no doubt he will dominate at this level, only injuries stopped him at the top level.

So tige who are the forwards that will be the force, west and mitchell????
I think at this stage hoppers will be the team to beat.

Rock, your one of the few people on hear that is totally honest. But if that comment about hoppers seems purely to be deflecting from colts and spotty. I like it though. a lot of young people at hoppers now. Lets pump them up as much as possible, then challenge them in a game situation and see what happens.

Callum Urch going o/s to London, heard he has been recruited by the London Magpies

Has been mentioned a couple of times and I thought I'd do some research after the questions raised at presidents meeting were ignored by league.

- Umpires held their meeting and had overwhelming support for vote of no confidence in umpires coach/ adviser
- Appointments of assistant coaches on WRFL website are untrue. The 2 names mentioned have not discussed positions and have not signed to coach
- Vote taken was to not umpire at all next year
- Have heard that a couple of senior umpires have already spoken to Riddell, Essendon and Geelong
- All but 2 senior field umpires in attendance

So it looks as though there's a lot the league isn't telling us. Might have to pull my shorts on next year as clubs may need to supply their own umps even for Div 1 footy.

IMO the umpiring this year was the best it's been for years. That must be coincidence or he must be doing something right.

Great deflection there Rock. I think a team that has played in the last 5 grand finals and able to build around Danny Jacobs could also be considered right up there with a good chance. Love your work.

Yes Hopper's are looking very good at the moment, great number's on the track with some high quailty recruit's.

Yes about Jacob's staying has he got his job at Patrick's and staying at the Port Colt's or has he got the job and going to City with a few other's of his from what i hear best mates.

In regards to the quality of umpiring this year, it must be coincidence because according to those I've spoken to, he doesn't do any coaching. Maybe the best type of coaching is to self coach. Interesting call though.

St.Albans seem to be flying under the radar a bit guys. Has Hollow definately gone back to Doutta Stars?

Theres been a bit of that too :thumbsu:

As for Hoppers being the team to beat. You're joking arent you? Lets be honest, they were a fair way behind Port and Spotty and are bridging the gap but thats it. I think Spotty are the team to beat along with Port. Nothing new there though. Hopefully it gets even tighter at the top.

would love to have d jacobs at city but don't think we could afford him,he's pretty well looked after at the colters...:thumbsu:

I am wondering if your clubs do stats and what your coaches look for? I have a keen interest in stats and am just curious what your club does in the way of stats? Does it play much of an importance at your club?

Just want to congratulate ALBION FC for securing EDFL legend Paul Harrison as Senior coach for 2009.
Steve Zavalas will still be playing and with Phipot & Cam Munro they look like they might be on the improve.
I am tipping a pretty handy player also might be coming over with the "Old Warrior" Paul Harrison.
How will they go against the stronger teams like Colts and Spotswood?

That pretty handy player would't happen to be Harro's brother in law (Simon Minton-Connel) by any chance would it?
