Decided to buy into Path of Exile 2 early access, given how many hours I've spent on the original ~$45 is reasonable. It's very PoE but looks a lot more polished, I'm still not sure I'm a fan of a couple of the changes they made but overall it's pretty good so far.
Im loving it, think this feels like more my jam then POE 1 at the moment

Loving the difficulty of it, its not just point and brain dead clicking

Playing Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake currently (played MG1 yesterday). These are the MSX games from 1987 and 1990.

Have absolutely no shame in saying I am using a guide. How the hell did anyone beat these games 35 years ago lol? The combat is easy as you can stick it on easy… but navigating them is so damn complicated. The games are basically one huge maze.

How'd you guys go getting on over the weekend? I was seriously considering the paid early access but kept reading about server issues and heaps of people having issues validating their keys. That was on the Steam forums though which is petulant at the best of times but I'm already playing Stalker 2 anyway. I figured I will jump in when the entry is free then if it all works out I'll spend some cash for tabs or whatever.

Servers got slammed with 1mil activations really quickly so I think there were a few performance issues very early on, I think a lot of the activation issues were people who couldn't read, it wasn't just a matter of redeeming a key or adding a game to a library.

I've had no issues whatsoever, not even a game crash

I dont say this lightly, this is the most fun ive had in a game in years. This is what Diablo games should of been

For 40 odd bucks you cant go wrong but say goodbye to all your free time/family lol

Playing Another Crab's Treasure.

It's fun, soft to look at - most soulslikes like to dig deeper into the gritty, this is blues and sand, soft tones; the colour palette could be taken from a Spongebob game - and has a decidedly Banjo-Kazooie type humour running through it. Lots of references to From and other games, as well as clever bits of dark humour thrown in. It's also got some lessons from Hollow Knight thrown in in the RPG elements and build options which is very clever as well.

Recommend.

Marvel vs Capcom Collection Arcade Classics ---------------

On pc and the Switch at the same time :p

My Rap Down - quite sure this was from July onwards as that's when I put a new SSD in my PS4.

Smashed over 100 hours of RDR2 in November. It was a pleasant surprise to have it break my story-based game dry spell. Only in Chapter 3, enjoying every minute.

My year in review:

Infinite Wealth my pick for the best game I played this year, then probably Black Myth Wukong. The majority of those FO4 hours would have been just renovating Sanctuary (with mods) I reckon.

Only played 9 different games.

Just completed Elden Ring. I know I'm late to tha party. Very different from my usual sort of game. Plenty of things I really didn't enjoy about it e.g no quest logs combined with really obtuse quests but I think overall I enjoyed the experience

I have Elden Ring, and I get little moments where I play it and yeah, it's okay, but given how feted it was on release, I don't see the hype. Perhaps the "Dark Souls" style game isn't for me.
I find the game very vast, but sort of empty at the same time.

People rate it so highly and think it's a masterpiece, but I don't find it "fun". I find it a grind.

Struggling big time lately for time or motivation for gaming. Completely cooked on the yearly sports titles now and so very little time available to enjoy COD Campaign or even bother downloading some of the cool new games like STALKER and IJ.

I asked the question on the Nintendo thread but really tempted at getting a switch mainly for Mario Kart where you can just turn on for 10-20 mins and not even really think to hard about what your doing and being able to take it on planes/ car trips , stays away for work etc seems tempting enough.

I'd say Dark Souls style games aren't for you.

Playing through Half-Life 2 again since the 20th anniversary update.

Finished base game, onto Episode 1. Up to the battle with the Strider at the train station.

The animations (especially the striders, gunships and headcrabs), and sound effects (especially the zombies, when they're on fire? Freaky shit) are still top class.

EDIT: Forgot that scene was the last one. Onto Episode 2!

GTA V ONLINE

Haven't played it on a consistent basis for months (a few goes here and there). This is my first go at it during Christmas season this year (didn't play it last year, but remember the Christmas updates from past years), love seeing the snowy environment!

Did the Casino wheel spin on PC.... failed
Just did it on PS5 and won the prize wheel bike :D

Always have a knack of getting the vehicle prize when i spin the wheel :p
