RIP Max Merritt who just passed away at 79. I particularly liked watching Max and Stewie Spears in the sixties. Their music was different from other bands and they were more than cool.
I saw Max play this number at Dallas Brooks when he was at the height of his powers.

This was a favourite and I saw it so many times during the sixties, at many of the local venues that teenagers could go to on a Saturday and see live music.

Kids nowadays are really missing out on something great.
Bye Max and thanks for the great memories.

Long-time lurker. Keep up the great work gentlemen.

Owe you one for Ratts too. He's a great footy person and we love the guy dearly.

All the best in the off-season.

You're all welcome in the Saints' Disco any time you like too.

And 51 years since this was released. Both this song and Layla are about the same woman, Pattie Boyd. She was married to George Harrison at the time Clapton wrote Layla. She later left Harrison and married Clapton. Not too many people get a smash hit written about them, let alone two songs like Something and Layla!

This is the singer I have been listening to recently on her 2014 album called Hunter. She is working on a new album at the moment. She trained to be an opera singer so she can hit and hold those high notes as you will see and hear. She is a serious talent.
Great singer and she is gorgeous!
