Green Day were absolutely a punk band in the 90s, it's not my fault you were born in 2008.
They were pop punk for teenagers from Rydell High they are considered an absolute joke by anyone from the real punk scenes. It's just the truth.

If your threshold is Minor Threat then nobody making music in the 90s was "real" punk, even the most influential 80s punk bands.
I haven't listened to anything from American Idiot onwards because they evolved out of it being my kind of music but they were a punk rock band in the 90s.
