His 'fat guy' swagger reminds me a bit of Juan Nelson, used to be the bass player with Ben Harper:



That Jackie Mittoo tune is actually a cover of a Monk Higgins soul track from 1966:



There are lots of reggae, ska and rocksteady soul covers floating around and some are pretty cool
