Suburban Lawns were a late '70's, early '80 new wave, post-punk band from Long Beach, California. Their debut single "Gidget Goes To Hell" was released in 1979, with Jonathan Demme directing the video. In 1981 they released their self titled debut album and followed up in 1983 with an EP titled "Baby" and shorlty afterwards disbanded. One of the more unique (for the times) aspects of the band was male and female lead vocallists. Last year their album and EP was reissued and I received my copy on the CD yesterday and have already listened to it a couple of times, and while it is a bizarre, it's a brilliant slice of early '80's West Coast New Wave in a similiar vein to Devo, Talking Heads or early Wall of Voodoo.
