You don't have to apologise for having terrible taste in music ;)

I like him because he's a comedian first and foremost, but he still manages to write catchy music. I love his whole shtick where he acts like a hardcore gangster rapper but raps about boring everyday normal stuff. Pretty much taking the piss out of the whole rap culture of ego and bragging.

He does have a strange obsession with masturbation though, which gets a little old, but he could just be playing to his audience, being an 'internet celebrity' and all.

Fair - I really enjoy Flight of the Conchords running a similar schtick.

Did I mention how AWESOME!!! this Tame Impala album is?

Good to see Perth lads winning NME's album of the year too: http://www.nme.com/news/tame-impala/67461[/quote

Yeah it is a pretty neat album. And I do like it more as they are collectively Docker kids. I have fond memories of driving around the Huon Valley in Tassie earlier this year, winding around the most beautiful driving conditions I have ever experienced (like a French country road track in Gran Turismo), listening to Lonerism in it's duration. A sweet morning.

Yeah I used to go to everything for a while. Hernandos, Governor Broome, Blazes, Adrians, The Broadway, that place that's now The Scotto, Red Parrot. Saw the Scientists many times back then plus all the other bands around. Agree on The Mannikins. My favourite band of that time was The Rockets who had the Detroit thing down pat. Went to every show they played for a couple of years there. Then I got seduced by the new wave of Psychedelia with The Church and fell in love with a local pop band called Silent Type and followed them around religiously.
I too have the Victims 45's, Scientists Frantic Romatic, Rockets EP but I've given it all to a friend who's an anorak for that kind of thing and looks after it all.
Good times :)

I am sure that we know of a couple of the same heads, Sheddy. The first time that I met James Baker, he sat down at the bar next to me, placed his hand on my shoulder and went:

"Mate yr alright hey. You look like Johnny Thunders"

5 hours later, I fell off the bar stool from trying to keep up with him. A wonderful warm man, much loved by everyone.

Picked up the latest Queens of the Stone Age this week called ...like clockwork. Frickin awesome album. The big ranga has really got these lads to turn the corner from occasional hit and shit dirty rock to a much more mature sound. Still a bit dirty rock, but just a solid album with more hooks and nice use of other instruments (i think there's an organ in there somewhere and a few string cameos). Anyway, great album full of tracks that grow and grow and get stuck in your head until you find yourself wandering around signing "if I had a tail...i'd own the night" to yourself. Get it.

Yikes? They have 6 albums now? I think after the 2nd or 3rd I packed it in and never looked back. In fact I think I went as far as to trade my albums in for something a little more fresh, Yes, I traded them in at the old Music Finder in Murray St Perth for a Ruins album.

I think they are up to 8 or 9 now actually. Back to a more aggressive sound (but still with a bit of a tribal/world music vibe) now.

Saw them at the BDO in 99 (?), that was insane. Lost a shoe in the pit and managed to find it again. Got pulled down by a teenager and pulled back up by a big maori fella. Insane.

9 albums are you sure. Max had started the Cavelerra Conspiracy with Ijor. Unless he isn't still in the band.

Had the Tame Impala cover Prototype stuck in my head for over a week now. It's in my head when I sleep, it's in my head when I wake up, it's in my head during the day. It's like ****ing a really sexy mellow dose of Heroin. Can't stop thinking about it.

For fans of Finnish folk metal, get down to the Amplifier in June for Finntroll in all their glory & just general drinking induced antics.

By some amount of flukiness both of my bands managed to score the support spots so head down and have a beer and a jig or two.

Additionally, we should be kitted up in our pelts and battle attire in no doubt unseasonably hot weather so come down and watch us sweat our arses off and just generally make fools of ourselves. :D
