Analysis What does Taylor Hunt have on Dimma?

The time has come to begin speculation on how Taylor Hunt continues to get selected in an improving team despite his on-field shortcomings.

The common refrain is that he is needed for his "defensive pressure" and "gut running", however I note that last night Hunt was the ONLY tiger not to register a single tackle, so we can safely rule out any football-related reason for his selection. I think we can all agree that the TRUE reason for selection is buried in the murky world of football politics and potentially embarrassing secrets which he knows about our head coach, Damien Hardwick.

I've started a poll to speculate about what those secrets could be, but feel free to add your own ideas in this thread.

This is such a rubbish arguement, all anyone should have to do is demonstate that they can perform better than Hunt does. Both those players have already demonstrated this. Why dos Hunt have a stranglehold on the position regardless of performance but the others have to perform out of their skin to replace him. Doesnt make sense.

I would pay a month's salary to see you have the chance to pin Dimma down and scream this whole post in his face, just so it got through to his brain ffs.

It is beyond infuriating that Hunt still plays.

Not just because he is shit.

But because we know that we would be even better, and less exposed/shaky defensively by playing a better player there. We are sacrificing another 5-10% team ability by keeping Hunt in the side. Dimma could lose his job over it to be honest... And he'll never know how good we could have been had he just bloody dropped Hunt.

I think it's because Richmond have just the one player position board and Dimma started writing the players' names down. Naturally he started with the Back Pocket, and that happened to be Hunt. After writing his name, he thought nah, then he realised he'd written with a permanent marker. He then realised he couldn't rub it out and rather than admit that he had done this it was easier just to play him.
