Reading the score in a text message is not "watching footy"...
That phone brings back a lot of fond memories.

Liked: The way Carlton fans attended their games in large numbers despite the relentless floggings

Learned: The the power of having two billionaires on your club board

Hated: The ridicule directed at Carlton because they are no longer a Big Club
#MembershipcancelledbyEddie.

Liked: Port crumbling

Learnt: Port will be average for a long time

Disliked: Round 5

People under estimate how Hawthorns three Grand Final wins required defeating three different and formidable game plans ...

What bored people was the clinical nature of it and the dismantling of these teams by a disciplined team with a strategy.

As a Hawk fan I found the 2014 Grand Final particularly amazing because we simply destroyed a team physically and tactically.
And everyone who isn't a hawk fan enjoyed 2012 better because it was a much better game that went down to the wire

It wasn't a great game, though, it was a close game.

The standard of footy was poor. It was played in a swirling wind where both teams couldn't hit a target or buy a goal. It suited Sydney's defensive style perfectly and allowed for a couple of flakey goals to win the game.

Yep, I'm still angry!
;)

Liked: The best player in the comp won the Brownlow

Learnt: How to respect a team you don't really like, no one can ever take away from Hawthorn just how amazing their last 4 years have been.

Hated: Bombers saga still going on. Finish it for the players sake, 3 years is too long

Agree with you on all three, especially the Hawthorn part.

I was hoping P.Dangerfield would steal the Charlie, glad that didn't happen in the end. N.Fyfe the clear winner in the end and most deserving. He's the best in the Comp, but could become one of the best ever if he can get Freo a flag.

Cheered passionately against the Hawks for years, and even though they destroyed my team in the finals, I found myself hoping they'd get the hallowed 3peat.

As for the Essendon Saga. I though it had finally been laid to rest at the start of the year, but unfortunately that's not the case. Hoping it can finally end in 2016 and the young fellas you've recruited can expand their game in a healthy environment. Best of luck, just not when playing the Crows.

The complaining about the MCG 'home' ground shit

Since 90 West coast have won 3 flags, sydney 2, Brisbane 3, Adelaide 2, Port Adelaide 1

Geelong 3, Hawks 4, Essendon 2, North 2 , Carlton 1 and Pies 2

Just a little over 50 percent to the Vic's despite them having 10 of 16 teams till 2011?

Take out Geelongs 3 seeing as they aren't an MCG side and its split down the middle

I think the interstate teams have it pretty good

liked- when open attacking football is played the game is as enjoyable as ever to watch. ie. the bulldogs at their best.
learnt- hawthorn are now an all time great side, if they win it in 2016 they are the GOAT.
hated- hate a bit strong for me so i go with disappointed- going to the gabba or watching my team on tv with hope and coming away "disappointed" on the vast majority of occasions in the last 10 years or so.
i do have the membership again, all signed up for 2016. the disappointment will all be forgotten if we get that end of season feeling from 01 to 03 back.:)

I agree with you, mate. No better place to play footy than a packed out MCG.

Ahem...recount on the Hawks' tally please!
(Sits and waits for mindless accusations of insecurity)

Liked: The Lions have a very exciting young list that is full of talent and will surprise a few next year.
Learnt: That teams can break the Hawks-Fremantle-Sydney-Geelong deadlock of the past few years. Dogs and Eagles are exciting.
Hated: FA (and the change of culture that comes with it) is a joke and Victorian teams have the huge advantage with it.

Throw Adelaide Crows in with the Eagles and Bulldogs.

I have never seen a close game I didn't love. Even the ones we lost.

Our game is the fastest and most awe-inspiring game ever invented, and even a low-scoring slugfest has more than enough moments of pure sublime beauty to satisfy the aesthetes, so all that matters to me is that it is a thrilling contest, which a close match always provides by definition .

Not wanting to open another stupid MCG Grand Final argument (for the record, I love it being at the G but have no issue with it it elsewhere - but please, someone do define "spiritual" home of footy - WTF does that mean, in any useable sense?)

... but your point proves nothing. So tired of having to spell this out.

Who's to say the "interstate" teams - quaint term that - wouldn't have won 75%, or 100% of GFs if they'd been held elsewhere?

Liked: Richmond choking again in finals.

Learnt: The MRP will never be a completely unbiased-consistent committee.

Hated: Judd going out the way he did.
