...That this guy is a keeper. Gives his all and has that grunt that we desperately lack. Ran up to Johnson after he missed a kick and decked him for no apparent reason. Crashes packs, backs into them and will hurt himself for the jumper.

Any more manlove for Luke?

i love luke.
gives EVERYTHING he has for the jumper
1 spoil in particular.. i think in the last.. he was absolutely spent and ran backwards to complete a diving spoil..
if he WERE to leave for GC in a few yrs as some have been suggesting, i would be devastated..
loves the rfc

I pretty sure it was McGuane I seen spoil a mark and gave a free kick away. But the thing I enjoyed the most was as the dogs player was getting back up McGuane talked some smack to him. :thumbsu:

I'm a fan but god he is becoming overrated amongst richmond fans. I guess we are just looking for some glimmer of hope. I still think that as a complete package he is no better than Thursfield and has much higher trade value...if the GC offers us an early-mid first round pick in the top 10 I'd take it in a heartbeat.

Sante summed it for me. When he missed right in front today it killed me.

Played pretty well though. You know he'll always give 100%.

I think its a bit harsh to judge him for a shot at goal, when he clearly isnt picked for his goalkicking. he does exactly what hes in the team to do, and that specky today was a wicked grab!

Re: What I learnt about Luke McGuane...hursfield

i actually dont think hes that good and is over rated. he plays hard but not a great kick, gets silly goals kicked on him and does get beaten and showed selfishness today by not leaving his man and following him to the behind post!

i agree with rancid, i'd take a high pick for him rather than thursfield

His kicking is no where near as bad as people make out. looks awkward but not overly bad for a back man. Luke is also one of our few defenders who continually leaves his man to help out another. He may not have done on that occasion but he does do it......a lot!

He also can run the ball out of defence Un like Thursty. I like thursty but other than a stopper he offers nothing going the other way which is important in the modern game.

Re: What I learnt about Luke McGuane...hursfield

Why is it all of a sudden McGuane or Thursfield???
Keep em both, they are all important to our structure and depth.. unless a potentially large offer came for one of them..
Nothing wrong with a backline of:

Moore Thursty McGuane
Newman Rance Raines

Also, include players like Polo who could swap through the midfield with these guys.

Has been our most impressive defender this year. Hasn't been pansted yet. More then this he actually gives good run and carry out of the back line and most of the time knows his limitations

Big fan
