Looking at next years team, the only players I am confident in are:

Backs:

Bowden
Hall
Newman
Hartigan
Campbell

Midfielders/Followers

Ottens
Tivendale
Johnson
Krakouer
Coughlan
Brown

Forwards

Richardson

Bench

Hyde
Jackson
Fleming
Zantuck

This leads me to think we need about 5 forwards, 2 midfielders and a centre half back. I realise that this is only the requirements for next year, and since we are developing for the longer term, our short term needs may not be that relevent. We also have a few other 'development' players, but I don't expect them to make much impact next year.

What do you think? Where do we need the most work?

DEfinatly an entire back line, one that moves fast enough to gang up on the opposition forwar like they do to Richo each week.

Or least let loydy now what a real push in a bkack feels like when he fakes one

start with the midfield first thats the most important area to a successful side

apart from Cogs and Johnson and possibly Brown the named above others dont stack up consistantly enough. We need more than just 2 outstanding midfielders.

You improve your midfield and it releases backline pressure and also creates better forward opportunities then you can adjust the backline and tweak the forward line with a few player injections accordingly.

I'd move Brown fwd he is a better forward than midfielder but a class player overall.

We need Forwards to HELP out poor RICHO .He cannot do it on his owe? : PLEASE GET FORWARDS who can kick goals.

and who is going to kick the ball into the forwards space to help them win their contest?

we could have the best forwards in the world but if delivery of the ball is crap and also not constant enough we will never kick a winning score.

Let's be honest, we need help everywhere. There is only one area I think we don't want to draft anymore players and that is flanker/receiver types. We need help in every other area. My predictions for the draft are an on-baller with pick 1, a key position player with pick 4, a ruckman with pick 20 and the best available players from then on. We definitely need help in the backline, but all early draft picks will be used on midfielders and forwards, backmen will have to wait until later in the draft for us. Hopefully Jackson and Moore can develop into decent defenders for us to help out back there.

If we were a cricket side I'd say all avenues are pretty well covered except for batting, bowling and fielding.

As we're not, a midfield, backs, forwards, followers, even enough depth for an interchange wouldn't go astray.

Oh, and a coach with some balls. Or do we now have that?

i think we dont really need any particular types, although a couple of rucks to develop and some kp players are the obvious ones, but we have so many problems i would look at anything. with our first three picks i think we should take the best players available at the time regardless of positition imho. if there is an area still lacking, well, one more year with a deficiency isnt going to hurt, better to get the best player we can and address the next problem later, as much as we would like to we cant fix everything in one hit, this is going to take a while.
