The concourse fenced off area is getting close-ish to full. At 20:00 the security suggested they would lock it out roughly 02:00... but it'll depend on how much space there is. In 2017 I think it had already locked out by now.
There are a few people on the grass from what I saw around 30min ago. I suspect they wish to drink, whereas the concourse has now been screened, with cans/bottles/alcohol banned.

I presume they've parked their car close by? I did that in 2017.
I was told my fold-up chair would have to remain outside, so I suspect it'll just be left in a corner and picked up once I get my seat stub. It's an old chair, I wouldn't worry if it was stolen, although unlikely.
You can still bring a backpack in, so sleeping bags and other stuff shouldn't be a problem.

Cheers, most people are already asleep or attempting too. I'll probably go down soon. It's not too difficult to sleep with enough layers and comforts.

On and off, don't feel too bad... toes are numb. I'm not as hardcore as others with swags/tents. Just layers and a blanket.
Didn't rain at all.

At least its reasonably fair. You line up early and you get a seat.

Mate of mine joined the line at 7:30am. What are the chances of him getting a seat? Apparently the line is pretty long.
You get given a ticket stub. You can go in at 8am and don’t need to return until game time
I’d say pretty high. The line is long but there is a lot of seats. I had a mate rock up game time and got a seat before
Can you get a seat stub then go and sit somewhere else and get another one and then later on give it to your mate who couldn't be arsed lining early?

Right so you don't actually get a seat say M44 row C seat 4. Just a ticket stub that gets you in.
I'm not a member but I'm pretty sure when you get in at 8am you bags a seat and stay in it until they issue a you a ticket for it. It then works as a reserved seat and you can leave and waltz back in later.
No doubt you are texting him from bed and will rock up to your AFL Members seat about 1:30.
