What would a Dutton Liberal leadership mean for the Liberals and the country?

when he was the leader of the house in a bygone time he was tough and with a well-set value system. i want that albo back.
As Dutton has proved, it is easier to promise the world when you're in Opposition

When you're in Government there are consequences to your actions

When you're in Government you also have to govern for all Australians. not only those that voted for you.

That was Abbott's and Morrison's problem

Lot harder than pontificating on a Comments forum.

I was having a listen to the ABC Politics Now podcast. Liberal MPs are finding Dutton's stance against working from home is going down like a lead balloon in their electorates. Some women especially (even those in the private sector) are enraged by the suggestion that the work they do from home, balancing with unpaid work, is not real work.

Dutton is like Morrison in that sense - says dumb shit that sounds good in the Dutton household but doesn't accord with modern Australia.

If albanese stood up to trump it probably would get him re-elected as well. Create a wedge between him and dutton. Look at how much its helped the left in canada. Staggered he isnt doing it.
Albanese has always been timid to attack. And he's not the best orator either.

But as you say, fighting back works politically as Trudeau showed - from a losing position to a winning position in a matter of a couple of weeks.

Are those for real? Surely a parody?

Nah, they're all real I'm afraid. For example, here's Andrew Hastie saying we should seek to give Trump access to our rare earths....

And here's Julian Leeser talking about changing laws to deport pro-Palestinians.

The Deputy Leader of the Federal Liberal Party talking 'Team Australia' while barracking for Team Trump and getting embarrassed by Sky News about the outcomes.

They're just miffed they can't dust off the ol' "Airbus Albo" moniker.

I'm sure if he did travel to the US and Trump slapped the tariffs on anyway they'd be complaining he wasted taxpayer's money by going there and not sealing the deal.

hopefully a recording of said meeting was made to see if we got our $21 grand worth

imagine the $h1ts and giggles questioning motormouth on the content of that recording - that would be an interesting interview

This wouldn't be at all divisive and serves as a good reminder to people that whatever anyone says Australia will walk hand in hand with Trump's America if Dutton is elected. The reason we aren't getting policy from the Liberal Party is that they're unelectable if their actual agenda is revealed.

Sadly that referendum would probably get up 🤷‍♂️

A vote for Dutton is a vote for Gina and Aussie MAGA.
"Rinehart, like her father, Lang, before her, has long been a proponent of nuclear energy, historically supporting the use of nuclear devices to blast mine sites in the Pilbara."

The Liberals are 100% paid for crumb maiden sycophants.

Nuclear mining - FFS

Guess the Libs do have some policies after all, even if most of them seem to be taking a leaf out of Trump's book....

What's the problem with offshore wind? Do the fish not like it? Surely it's a win-win for the princesses who don't want windmills in the countryside.

The oligarchs are not invested in it - other than that it is fine.

The establishment is invested up to its ears in fossil fuels. The End.
