Not sure COLA is a scandal given it was endorsed by the League. Edelston buying the club in the 80's when he couldn't afford it was one of the better moments.

I thought about that - but it's not really a scandal, is it? It's not trying, via dubious means, to get one over the other clubs. It's not cheating. It's not acting like a bunch of d!ckheads to the competition in general. Players and coaches have been sacked for years.
It was just the board being monumentally stupid. All fair and legal, though. I don't think any other clubs got offended by it.
Hawthorn's would be the disgraceful actions of that player Rushby Hinds in the 2008 GF.....

For Fremantle it could be Siren Gate that was pretty big sure it was no fault of their own and it still gets brought up on radio

They would have been considered coaching genius
For Geelong, despite not pertaining directly to the club, it would have to be Ablett Sr/Alisha Horan. That Ablett's name is inextricably linked to the club brought more attention to it than anything else that Ablett Jr leaving or Stevie J getting done for speeding or Brownless and Lyon sharing a wife.

Definitely Heuskes and several Brisbane teammates for their disgraceful efforts in London.
Heuskes also involved in another incident that probably could be considered as one of Ports bigger scandals, even though he wasn't playing for them at the time. The infamous heaven nightclub 'foursome'.
I think I heard something about Hawthorn celebrating their 1000th game by Indigenous players this weekend? I have no stats for other clubs so I might be wrong in thinking it was odd but I remember thinking that was pretty damn few - as a quick add in my head North would have 200 odd from Thomas & Wells, and Pickett, Abraham, Krakouers x2, Motlop x3, Campbell all had 60-120.
Hawthorn have also had Rioli, Buddy & Burgoyne churn out a lot of games in the last decade.

For mine, The Sainters biggest scandal is surely that 50 years on, they still haven't fully paid their only Premiership players.
