Whilst i get your point. The carry on doesn't stem from the knowledge of the upcoming (and warranted since Fletcher got it too) love fest. The majority of people are just crying because it's Boomer. Plain and simple.

Im sure the incredible things Boomer does. Like coming back from being knocked out to dominate the game a few years back, far outweigh the gamesmanship. Who really cares. At the end of the day players play and look for any advantage to get their team over the line. Its as bad as people whinging about Shuey et al ducking. Compare this incident to Hamish Hartlett pointing at the post when the goal umpire was about to call a goal a few weeks back (also against West Coast). Hartlett's behaviour is the kind of sportsmanship we like to see in the game and our country.

Agreed. I hate umpires filling in what they miss with assumptions. additionally, I think every AFL level ump will have viewed this and next time Boomer is involved in anything they'll automatically assume he's faking it, or will consider whether he could be faking it. Those scenarios are just unlikely to go with him next time. Only human nature to think that once he has shafted an ump in this manner, he could be trying it on again, so I can't see umpires being sympathetic to his claims ever again.
