Hipster Olympics going on in this fred. Name the most obscure band you can and, if anyone else likes them, pretend you never really liked them.

All great songs ITT. Thanks for all the tips, will try ro follow up.

I'm listening to some old Eno, Music For Airports, and I haven't ever used heroin so beat that.

This week I've listen to Kids in the Kitchen, Essendon Airport, Nation XII, that song with Barnsey screaming in the sky, Nick Drake, Beach Boys can't remember the rest. Oh some soundtracks, Gladiator, Rome Total War, Lawrence of Arabia.

Keep circling back to the Butthole surfers:

Feel he’s more of a Huey Lewis and the News type
Their early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when Sports came out in '83, I think they really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

Oh goody it’s like covid all over again!
Doves - Lost Souls
Radiohead - Ok Computer
Logistics - Now More than Ever
Klaxons - Myths of the Near Future
High Contrast - Tough Guys Don’t Dance

I'll diverge to top 10 songs showing some diversity...had to cap 10 or I would have copped some TLDR. I have a few Spotify playlists and one of them I made an all time Top 200 and that was hard to cap. Its probably snuck up to above 200 now as I added a few I missed along the way.

You Only Get What You Give - New Radicals
Jack and Diane - John Cougar Mellencamp
Forever Young - Youth Group (yes I know not original)
Never Start - Middle Kids
Fourfiveseconds - Rihanna, Kanye, Paul McCartney
Sweet Dreams - Eurythmics
Groceries - Mallrat
Prayer in C - Lilly Wood and the Prick Robin Schulz
Like Soda - Violent Soho
You're Beautiful - James Blunt

Lost Souls and OK Computer are two of my favourite albums too.

I liked the Klaxons too but not enough to buy one of their albums.

They produced a couple of banging singles though.

The Poms might be shit at sport but they are world beaters when it comes to music.

He also killed the Pistol’s music as well, the useless junkie.
I think like some other notable examples, the death of a member and the dissolution of the band is actually a positive for their long term legacy.

It prevents them from sliding into embarrassing obscurity and instead cements them at their prime.

Or uh....you know

The Sex Pistols were garbage like most of those late 70s UK punk bands.

The only UK punk band from that era I rated was The Clash, they were a lot better than the average UK punk band.

Ian Rubbish and the Bizarros were underrated though, the only Pro Thatcher UK punk band.

He was shit and couldn’t play, why they let him in the band after Glen Matlock left is anyone’s guess. The Sex Pistol’s were much better before Sid joined.

Anyone or band who is Pro Thatcher is pure unadulterated scum

As is * wit Hulk Hogan who literally cannot stop salivating over Donald Trump.

Trump is so shit that Kamla and the Democrats have Arnie on our side.

I lived in the UK for a couple of years during Thatcher’s reign, got married there. My father in law absolutely hated her guts. He was old school, if you didn’t have anything nice to say, you didn’t say anything. Except when it came to Thatcher.
