Seriously, so you don't have any players in the squad, big deal! Instead of taking it as something to be proud of, that your team doesn't really need a standout type of player in order for you to do well, all i've seen is bickering and sulking, then the unbelievable statement from one fan that said Collingwood is bigger than the AFL. I can only hope it was tongue in cheek.

The players who made the AA squad, deserve to be there, and that should be respected. It doesn't mean the rest of the 500+ players are rubbish, just unlucky that this competition is so even, and the battle to be the best player in a certain position, is always going to be very tight.

I'm not too worried about the AA thing, I am more worried about Saturday night, that's what means the most. Nothing against the All Australian Team, but I care more about the final this week. :)

It is an absolute disgrace that at least Tarkyn Lockyer was overlooked for the top-40 list. His performances and his stats clearly indicate that it was wrong. That said, I personally don't really care, and I have absolutely no doubt that the team will use it as extra motivation this weekend.

Collingwood have beaten Sydney twice this season, yet the Swans are firm favourites to win on Saturday. The players must be wondering what it takes to earn some respect. Now this decision just tops it off, so I expect and hope the players will take it to the field instead.

If Collingwood don't like how the All Australian team is selected, why has it taken them this long to complain about it?... Thats right they don't have a player in the side this year.

is that like when you study your ass off for an exam, stress and lose sleep over it, and then when time comes to do it you tell your mates "i dont really care how i go anyway"?

They have every right to be upset about 1 or 2 of their players missing out .
The selection process is a farce and so is the AA squad.
The AA should be scrapped or the selectors scrapped .

What sort of logic is this? Collingwood complained about it as soon as the squad was announced. When do you want Collingwood to complain about it? Before the squad was even announced?

You don't make any sense. Collingwood supporters are justifiably sharing an opinion regarding the non-selection of at least Tarkyn Lockyer in the 2007 all-Australian squad, and what on earth does that have to do with the selection of all-Australian teams from the past? Please elaborate.

Firstly, I don't have an "ass." Mine is an arse. Secondly, what on earth are you on about anyway? It is exactly as I said it. Why don't you take my post on face value?

Yes, it is a disgrace that at least Lockyer was not included in the top-40, and no, I don't particularly care too much because it is a team sport. Did you get that this time?
Lockyer and Shaw were unlucky not to get in the squad. But they only would've been making up the numbers in the list of 40.
That depends on personal opinion as some people had Lockyer in the first 18.

Well personally I thought Lockyer was incredibly unlucky not to at least make the 40, but obviously it's a disaster since Eddie makes a big deal over it.

How sad to see Collingwood get the raw end of a deal, just like they do every year with TV coverage, fixturing (in September too), and everything else.

They really could use a bit more help from the AFL.

Eddie's statement, "They should've learnt after the Team of the Century," was even worse. When will he finally stop whinging and get over it? He wants the team changed just so a Collingwood player gets in. Apparently Collingwood is a selection criteria for everything.

but seriously, lockyer shouldve been in the squad. i had him in my AA team!

The selection criteria was taken from a pool of backmen, centre's comprising of rucks and onballers and forwards therefore lockyer would only fit into the centre on-ballers section and it was there he was against some pretty stiff competition. It does not mean he wasn't within the 40 best players of the competition.
I'm sure most people don't care about the AA team, I certainly don't but for Eddie to suggest that it may be some sort of conspiracy against collingwood is just another lame attempt of his to try and make collingwood the centre of the universe.

I couldn't give a rat's arse.

It sucks for individual players, but it's good for the club, in that no-one can say "but wait, I'm an AA player" during contract negotiations.

The other clubs can keep their hype.
