Generally I favour in the water

For the beach it's usually Dee Why or Long Reef (less busy)

For the pool - Manly Aquatic Centre

Thirroul beach in the Gong

In Sydney, I like Freshwater and Coogee beach.

At my folk's place they have a pool, and there's public swimming pools down the road but I prefer swimming in the ocean to pools.

Locally in mates swimming pools.......like most we prefer to avoid swimming at the beaches up here with the snapping handbags about all year round and then the box jellyfish for most of the year it's just not worth the risk.

We also have some great swimming spots just out of town at Howard Springs, Berry Springs and best of all Litchfield Park...........sure they may get the odd freshwater snapping handbag but they rarely cause any problems compared to their salt-water brothers..........:D

for some reason the swear filter doesn't like putting the words salt and water together it shows up as sal****er.....

Mostly I just swim in Teagueybabe's pool :) I'm a pool scab....
I'm thinking of going down to Brighton beaches some more, only place I can catch a train to....

I just swim at my local pool - it's not great, it's not classy, but it's a body of water and it's only $2.50 so that's good.

I'm getting annoyed now that it's summer with all of the children in the pool - means extra chlorine, and running into floaties too much... Ick. Roll on school year. Please! (Thinking of starting a campaign re-claim our lanes...) I'm a tolerant person really... no really.

What kind of floaties?

I prefer beaches over pools. The nearest public pool to us, the Wendouree Pool, is never open, anyways-- I presume there must be some sort of algae problem there. :(

Nonetheless, whenever Jen and I reavel down to Geelong, I'll swim on the beach (well, OK, in the water at the beach, just to be technical :p ).

First choice is Eastern Beach, Geelong, followed by the Back Beach in Torquay.

You can never get into Torquay's Front Beach-- too damn crowded, even if you can find a car park.

Next, I'm planning on learning how to surf sometime in the future. One of Jen's cousins owns and operates one of the more popular surf shops on Geelong's Surf Coast, and he has promised me lessons. :)

Cheers,
William

I like the City Baths, and sometimes the beach.... when i want peace i'll stay away from the beach though....

Public Pools = Public Pi$$ holes, otherwise the beach, dams, lakes or a fruit bin lined with plastic under the backyard tree & chuck in 5kg of salt & I'm there.
