I know where Phil Gluyas (Timelord) went... he's still managing his other site (and reffing suburban WWF). Had a disagreement with the powers that be of bigfooty.com or something.
I read an article online somewhere that Phil Doyle wrote about his disillusionment with grassroots sports and was wondering if he'd packed it all in, and the Mountain Lions with it.

Katoomba-Lithgow failed to win acceptance in either the CWAFL or the Sydney FA and hence Phil D's looking toward 2005 but a bit disappointed.
He's also pretty busy with a sports journalism job, I think.

Last I heard from Phil Doyle, early in the new year, he was fairly flat out with a new job for a union news website.

The NSW/ACT commission decided that it was too far for Sydney clubs to travel to Katoomba whilst the CWAFL decided much the same thing on behalf of their clubs, hence they were caught between a rock and a hard place unfortunately for them.
Apparently they have merged with Nor-West Jets (Hawkesbury) in the Sydney AFL First Division (renamed from SFA). This should make them (the Jets) far stronger depth wise as traditionally their reserves side have been appalling. Would have been a better fit with Penrith I would have thought as a number of the Mountain Lions guys were past Rams players but there you go.
Desie,wrong on that one.i was injured for all of 03,so went mad on the club affiliation route in my spare time,when i found an article on Katoomba-Lithgow AFC>gave them a call,spoke to Mark Cuffe(former K-L president,now UNSW/ES Div3 full fwd)and organised a meeting.they intended to merge,but wanted to keep their identity(have you seen their jumper?) so we just went with an end of season trial at Bensons.smacked the ass off em,in footy and the knuckle(haha)won by 20-odd goals.as far as Mr Doyle goes,he kept in touch for a short while.wouldve been a good publicity officer for the club he ends up at.so Desie no merger with Norwest,we need to focus on our "appaling reserves"who beat Penrith twice,and got two more wins than the team just mentioned.its all cannon fodder, just ask Borgie!no hard feelings,great bunch of blokes but.desie said:

As for your "appalling reserves", I think it's reasonable to say that traditionally this has been the case, and yes, you beat us twice this year which, with all due respect, says a bit about our rabble at the moment. That being said, your guys results did improve a lot this year from the hidings you had been copping so fair play. I caught a look at the game at Benson's Lane this year and I've got to say it was the most inept standard of footy I've seen for ages. The sooner we all get together for the good of footy out our way the better. I'm not sure how else we're going to compete

I'm still wondering in the wilds - figuring what I'm going to do.
And Big Footy hasn't changed either. Few interesting posters, but just enough (particularly on the regional and music boards) to keep things interesting and refreshing.
