Which IPL team will you be supporting?

I know they'll be the popular choice but i don't mind. Hyderabad for me - my 2 favourite aussies plus some of my (secret) favourites from other sides - Silva, Styris, Laxman.

Bowling looks a bit iffy but will still be so awesome to watch. Batting depth is so deep that their destructive top order will be able to tee off without regard.

2nd choice for me would've been Bangalore - have such a good even all-round team, i think they'll go well. A worry over the snails Dravid and Kallis in the same team, they'll just have to show new aggression.

BANGALORE
Chanderpaul
Jaffer
Dravid
Kallis
White
Boucher
Kumble
Bracken
Steyn
Zaheer

Not sure why some teams haven't got eleven yet.

Kolkata and Mohali look the other major threats to me.

Hyderabad look awesome! Also I like Mohali, because Lee is playing for them:) (and Katich?) I think he'll suprise a few!!

And Irfan Pathan, Kumar Sangakkara & Mayhela Jayawardne!

Delhi Virender Sehwag (icon), Daniel Vettori (US$ 625,000), Shoaib Malik (US$ 500,000), Mohammad Asif (US$ 650,000), AB de Villiers (US$ 300,000), Dinesh Karthik (US$ 525,000), Farveez Maharoof (US$ 225,000), Tillakaratne Dilshan (US$ 250,000), Manoj Tiwary (US$ 675,000), Gautam Gambhir (US$ 725,000), Glenn McGrath (US$ 350,000)

I need to see the team colours and what their nickname/animal mascot is:D

But seriously, I can't see myself picking a team and being passionate about them. I think I will be just enjoying the contest and barraking for the individual Aussies to perform well.

There is a thread in here on all of that information that you want. Check the IPL Auction thread.

I have decided to stick with supporting my favourite player who is Glenn McGrath and he is playing for the Delhi Daredevils. Check my sig.

Yeah 4 so Hyperbad cant play everyone at once which may hurt them.

I'm going with Chennai Hayden & Hussey to open the batting.
that sux. So it's basically just an Indian domestic league but with high profile ring-ins.

Surely that quota will rise in future years once the comp gathers momentum.

This one still makes me laugh

Hyderabad for me, last chance to support Gilly, and then Symonds, Laxman, Gibbs and Afridi will be good to watch. Always liked Vaas too

yuvraj singh is a icon his strugglinh from injury to his left knee at the moment, he is in the top 3 best one day batsmen in india

seeing as i was born in Mohali, im going to pick them, and not a bad side either for Mohali...

Simon Katich
Ramnaresh Sarwan
Kumar Sangakkara
Yuvraj Singh
Mahela Jayawardene
Irfan Pathan
Brett Lee
Piyush Chawla
Ramesh Powar
Sreesanth

Well first and foremost i'll be supporting individual players and not a particular side.
But here is what i think.

Jaipur Shane Warne (US$ 450,000), Graeme Smith (US$ 475,000), Younis Khan (US$ 225,000), Kamran Akmal (US$ 150,000), Yusuf Pathan (US$ 475,000), Mohammad Kaif (US$ 675,000), Munaf Patel (US$ 275,000)

Apart from the great man there's little to like about this team. Graeme Smith obviously has the hatred factor, and the rest of the team are no-names, subcontinent no-names at that, which means i dislike them but not as much as the main men from the subcontinent.

Chennai MS Dhoni (US$ 1.5 million), Muttiah Muralitharan (US$ 600,00), Matthew Hayden (US$ 375,000), Jacob Oram (US$ 675,000), Stephen Fleming (US$ 350,000), Parthiv Patel (US$ 325,000), Joginder Sharma (US$ 225,000), Albie Morkel (US$ 675,000), Suresh Raina (US$ 650,000), Makhaya Ntini (US$ 200,000)

A few i really like and a few i really hate here, Hayden, Oram and Fleming would top my list being a fan of the Kiwis. Murali, Ntini and Partiv are clearly big negatives. Don't mind Dhoni as an Indian.

Mumbai Sachin Tendulkar (icon), Sanath Jayasuriya (US$ 975,000), Harbhajan Singh (US$ 850,000), Shaun Pollock (US$ 550,000), Robin Uthappa (US$ 800,000), Lasith Malinga (US$ 350,000), Dilhara Fernando (US$ 150,000)

Ummmmmm, one of the worst IMO. They're all from the subcontinent + Pollock.

Bangalore Rahul Dravid (icon), Anil Kumble (US$ 500,000), Jacques Kallis (US$ 900,000), Zaheer Khan (US$ 450,000), Mark Boucher (US$ 450,000), Cameron White (US$ 500,000), Wasim Jaffer (US$ 150,000), Dale Steyn (US$ 325,000), Nathan Bracken (US$ 325,000)

It's just a shame that Bracken has been put in a team chock-full of Indians and South Africans.

Hyderabad Adam Gilchrist (US$ 700,000), Andrew Symonds (US$ 1.35 million), Herschelle Gibbs (US$ 575,000), Shahid Afridi (US$ 675,000), Scott Styris (US$ 175,000), VVS Laxman (US$ 375,000), Rohit Sharma (US$ 750,000), Chamara Silva (US$ 100,000), RP Singh (US$ 875,000), Chaminda Vaas (US$ 200,000), Nuwan Zoysa (US4 110,000)

Now this team i dont mind.
Other than RP Singh and Gibbs the rest are alright. :thumbsu:

Mohali Yuvraj Singh (icon), Mahela Jayawardene (US$ 475,000), Kumar Sangakkara (US$ 700,000), Brett Lee (US$ 900,000), Sreesanth (US$ 625,000), Irfan Pathan (US$ 925,000), Ramesh Powar (US$ 170,000), Piyush Chawla (US$ 400,000)

Yuvraj, Sreesanth, Irfan all in the one team. Poor Lee. :(
I reckon i dislike this team the most.

Kolkata Sourav Ganguly (icon), Shoaib Akhtar (US$ 425,000), Ricky Ponting (US$ 400,000), Brendon McCullum (US$ 700,000), Chris Gayle (US$ 800,000), Ajit Agarkar (US$ 330,000), David Hussey (US$ 675,000), Ishant Sharma (US$ 950,000), Murali Kartik (US$ 425,000), Umar Gul (US$ 150,000)

Good team. :thumbsu:
McCullum has always been my boy, throw in Ponting and Gayle too,
Hussey is an Aussie,
Shoaib is ok,
They have Ganguly but he is comedy value more than anything else. :D

Delhi Virender Sehwag (icon), Daniel Vettori (US$ 625,000), Shoaib Malik (US$ 500,000), Mohammad Asif (US$ 650,000), AB de Villiers (US$ 300,000), Dinesh Karthik (US$ 525,000), Farveez Maharoof (US$ 225,000), Tillakaratne Dilshan (US$ 250,000), Manoj Tiwary (US$ 675,000), Gautam Gambhir (US$ 725,000)

I like Vettori, but i definately dont like this team.

____________

I choose Kolkata, then Hyderbad.
