As we get to that part of the year where footy news drops to a halt... this kind of topic is worthy of the mainboard :)

Its a good chance that its Josh Hunt 100kg/185 cm

0.54kg/cm

does any other player even come close?

BMI would be a better value to compare.

No it wouldnt because BMI is a crap stat that you can make say almost anything.

Dont think anyone on norths list can touch sandilands ratio.

In reverse though: Aaron Mullet is 184/73kg

0.396 kg/cm.

Seem to remember that Glenn Archer had a BMI that would have almost (technically) classed him as obese.

Of course, he wasn't obese, he was just a massive, massive unit.

Hunt is in the same category. He is one of those guys I can imagine stacking it on when he hangs up the boots though!

Hopefully not as bad as Stuey Dew has though! I saw him very close up at the Essendon v Sydney game this year.

Was not a pretty sight..

Same for boxer Iron Mike Tyson.... imagine in his hey day or maybe even still today calling him fat boy!!!!

If only we could find out who has the highest VO2 Max signature - arguably the single most important stat in determining fitness.

Might come across as obvious, but Cadel Evans's is almost off the charts.

Yes, aerobic fitness. But not anaerobic fitness, muscular power/endurance, agility or speed. All neccessary for an elite AFL athlete. :)

Edit: and my money would be on swan

Everyone is wrong so far....no one has a weight of x kg's. They have a mass of x kg's.

But anyway... surely Sandilands would win this. .58 :0

From North, some big ones include:
Pedersen = 100kgs, 193cm = .52
Luke Delaney = 97, 194 = .5
Petrie = 102, 197 = .517

Grima, McIntosh and Firrito all also hit or go over the .5 mark.

If bored may attempt to go through the AFL, find out who has the biggest ratio, the biggest midfielder etc.

Could be interesting. Then couple that with VO2 max, 3km run, jump and sprint tests, would be able to find who are actually the best athletes.

On the other end of the scale:
Ben Mabon = 81, 200 = .405
