There's no doubt in my mind that Lynch should get picked ahead of RoJo.

What if Glass/Hunter gets knocked out in the first quarter?

What if Gardiner wrecks his knee?

Just think along those lines.

There's no player in our side that RoJo would be an adequate replacement for. But what happens if we find ourselves a key defender short at HT? Wouldn't you rather have Lynchy sitting on the bench instead of RoJo?

Let the Big Unit off the leash I say. RoJo hasn't done nearly enough to justify selection ahead of him.

On form - Rojo
On contribution to getting us to where we are - Lynch

Feel sorry for Lynch, very harsh to be dropped. But he has been skating on thin ice for a while now, and finally lost his spot when it was evident one of Gardiner, Hansen or Lynch had to be taken out of our forward line.

Well we've got injuries.

Bones, Braun and Matera are all struggling.

Let's assume they get selected. Do you really think Matera will be 100%?

Now we have Gaspar at CHB, do we really need Bones on a flank? Surely Hunter, Chick, Banfield and Staker can cover that spot.

This is the scenario I envisage:

Braun won't play. So already, we need to bring someone in.

Let's say that one of Bones and Matera comes up. I reckon that's the absolute best we can hope for.

So we have:

OUT: Braun
IN: Bones/Matera

At that point, are you telling me that you would pick RoJo ahead of Lynch?

Rojo has played how many games this year? 4? 5? He's been poor in all but one of them, while Lynch has busted his balls all season long in a position he was never meant to play, while never even cramping up.

Lynch is ultra-durable and can play back/forward/ruck. What is RoJo's role? Slow midfielder with bad hands? Unnaccountable small defender? Slow forward who can't kick?

Which one is it?

There's no question in my mind that unless at least 2 of Bones, Matera and Braun are fit, Lynch should get a game this weekend.

No question whatsoever.

What form? RoJo had one good game against the Dockers and has been amongst our worst every other time he's been selected.

If RoJo had any real form at AFL level I'd pick him in a heartbeat.

But he doesn't.

I'd rather give Sam Butler a game than RoJo.

What is you obsession with Rowan Jones, you havnt seen him play in the WAFL, you dont have a clue. Rowan Jones doesnt have the flashy skills but he is always the first at the bottom of the pack. Gaspar would be better at FF then Lynch, Gaspar shud get a go because he has more versatility. I dont see us chucking Lynch down back.

Why have we all forgotten Brett Jones, he will come in for Braun. Matera will probably play, so it will probably mean neither will play.

Because, y'know, good WAFL form is a sure-fire sign you're going to play well at the top level. Why all the WAFL stars go on to be AFL stars!

Dolt. We've seen him play four or five games in the AFL and do nothing. Lynch in.

Bones will play, Braunis unlikely, but IMO Woosha coukd pull some funny buggers and i think he will get an injection and play, but will be named as an emergency, just to keep sydney guessing. Matera is 50/50 at this stage but Woosh is smart enough to only play one of Matera/Braun, it could be either, i have a feeling its Braun, but most righly assume Matera.

In Bones Matera/Braun
Out Braun, Rojo

Bones for Rojo and one of Braun and Matera to play, both Lynch and Rojo deserve a spot in an AFL side, they are honest battlers who give their all, but neither have the class of a premiership player IMO.

You're basically saying that 2 of Bones, Braun and Matera will be OK.

I'm not as confident as you.

What would you do if only 1 of those 3 was right to play? Would RoJo still get a game?

Lynch has to be picked. Out of him,Braun and Matera, hes the only one whos been screwed. Braun was unlucky too and Matera all though needed on Saturday isn't fit and hasnt had the best year. The bigger issue is Sydneys line up. Who would play on Matera. Could he rove our forward 50 like he does so well or would a pack crashing Lynch be a better option?
Its a hard one, glad i dont have to pick it.

hmmmm, NO. Feel free to watch a replay of last weeks match. He chicken out of a contest at least twice.

lynch. But what if no injury occurs would we be too top heavy gunnar?

Give Lynch a game and just let him run around smashing Swans.... so what if he ends up getting 10 weeks - may not get many games next year anyway with Smith back.

Gunnar....your just a RoJo hater. Lynch has been skating on thin ice for a while now and was finally dropped. I feel for him I really do, it's heartbreaking but I just dont think he will come back into the side.

We would be too top heavy if he were selected in front of Jones.

It's true. I am a RoJo hater, and my love for the Big Unit has been well-documented.

But RoJo has done nothing and Lynch is a versatile tall that could be very handy in bursts.

I'd rather Butler got a game ahead of RoJo.

Bones will play. Not sure about Matera and Braun, i think 1 will play, if neither come up, then I think Rojo will play, although I would pick Lynch, the forward line structure looks fine and Woosha would want to make minimal changes to the Prelim team IMO.

Lynch for Rojo is stupid, two completely differenty players one is a KPP one is a midfielder, We cant play too tall like we did last time, we gotta go in with a smaller forward line. Did you actually watch the game against Sydney or not Gunnar.

Doesnt seem like it, your going on about a tall forward line, it didnt work last time why wud it work this time.

What are you basing that on?

Or do you just have a feeling about it?

I don't have information either way, but you seem pretty certain. Why?

He has been training well, he will play.
