With confirmation that I have tickets (q52-s the top of the Olympic stand... Not the best of spots) I was gonna ask if anybody else wanted to meet up for a post match drink or 2

If that's where I watched the 92 GF from it's a beauty, loved it. Can see (well I could then not now :p) all over the ground from there.

Q52 for the Pies v Hawks game, behind the goals in M32 for the Eagles.

Super excited! Will be having drinks with a couple of mates, and my brothers who will be at the games, before and after both games.

Not sure where yet though.

I'll be there :) I'm an MCC member (thanks to the old man putting me down at birth) so i'll sit wherever I find a seat.

Hoping to see plenty of blue and gold. Judging from the regular season we have a fair few supporters in melbourne so if we get big numbers over from Perth we should be able to make a fair bit of noise :)

You would imagine the cats would only get 40,000 there max so to even up the crowd noise would be massive for the boys.

COME ON EAGLES FANS. NOW IS THE TIME TO SHOW YOUR PASSION!!!!!! Empty the bank accounts and get to Mecca! Its going to be on like donkey kong.

GO YOU WEST COAST EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

West Coast fans generated a lot of noise in the collingwood match, so would expect more of it this week for sure.

Although maybe there were just a lot of neutrals at that game also cheering for us haha.

tram to flinders or spencer or one of the city loop stations. Catch the train to richmond or jolimont station and follow the crowd to mecca.

Or you could just walk. Its probably a 25-35 minute stroll from the city

I'll be there, though I haven't bought a ticket yet. If you're staying in the CBD, then you can catch a tram running down Exhibition St. You can also catch a train to Richmond Station. I prefer to walk, as it's a pleasant walk from the city.

Exactly, we will out cheer Geelong.

To every Westcoast Supporter, get down there! :thumbsu:

Shueyisagun, do you have any recommendations on a good pub nearby for a few drinks and some dinner after the game?

Its an interesting one. You can head across to punt road and there is a pub there but its not great. or you can go over the railway line and up bridge road. THere actually isn't much in the immediate vicinity.

Lifted this quote off a forum on the subject

There isn't much on the city side. I always head into Richmond. Go past the punt rd pubs to Swan street where you'll find the Corner hotel where I'll be before the match, The Swan, The Richmond Club, The Vaucluse as well as a number of bar type places. There is also the London Tavern on Lennox street and the Mountain View on BRidge rd. All of these places are within easy walking distance of the MCG and are not sleazy strip joints like the Royal on punt rd.

I bought tickets through a friends who isn't going membership.. Got two tickets right behind the goals... block M2 I think..

I really hope it is the West Coast end of the ground, otherwise I wont be making friends I am sure!

I will probably head to the London hotel, or one or the ones around Richmond.. they are always good ones to get some beers in the belly

Aww geez man wrong end.

Kidding, cheer squad is M3 so you got the right side. I'll be on the wing Level 2 in N14.

It's really good fun to walk along the Yarra, see the G from miles away and follow the crowd to the ground...catch the guy playing the bag-pipes and other buskers.

Great atmosphere.

This would be my advice as well :thumbsu:

Its only a very short walk from the CBD to the ground.

I will be there and im pretty sure I will be M3 although I have not picked up my ticket yet.
