yes, r.i.p fez.mulgrave - lot to play for, for the boys this year. not only stung by consecutive grand final loses, but also the unfortunate passing of, probably the most exciting player in div 2, fearon-brown (fez).
2-0 start so far but will lose booth for the next 5-6 games. interesting season ahead for the lions.

Are they still based at Zerbes reserve. Had a great time there for four years, but that was in ancient times.
Thanks for that. Good to hear. When I'm over home next I'll come and look at them.Beverley Hills joined EFL (EDFL then) in 1982. they changed their name to Doncaster East in 1989 and yes they still play at Zerbes Reserve.

Thanks ManInWhite great win for the Tiges on the weekend too!
Speaking of Montrose was up there today, there new facilities are sensational. That new pavilion is probably the best i have seen at local level.I am a follower of another league, however I have just read a fantastic article in the Shire of Yarra Ranges Winter Newsletter in relation to the Montrose Football Club providing clinics for players with intellectual disabilities. I just wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate Montrose Football Club on their efforts and hope they can keep up with the good work. A lot of these types of forums are filled with mud slinging from opposition supporters but I would like to say well done to Montrose and it is great to see the whole club pitching in and helping out.
G'day fellas, there was a story in the Geelong Addy today about district league club Belmont Lions signing former Mitcham coach Paul Nigro as coach for the 2011 season. Belmont are a club who were in alot of trouble last season but a new committee has gotten them back on track, even tho the wins havnt come yet..
The article went on to say Mitcham were close to folding a couple of years ago and Nigro is the man credited with saving the club from dropping to the foot of the 4th division.
Would someone be able to tell me what exactly happened to Mitcham? I noticed they were a 1st div club a few years ago but since then they seemed to have fallen on really hard times.. Cheers for any responses guys.

When i was a boy, i played all the way through the Kilsyth juniors and the emblem on the membership tickets was of a red breasted robbin.
I never once heard any verbal reference to being the robbins. It was always Killy or Syths.
It was G Spencer who was credited to have come up with the name Cougars.
Coldstream also became the Cougars.
