Despite saying trading him was kinda a stupid idea I panicked and traded him to Swan last week. Saw it as a good opportunity to get Swan in and didn't want to have 3 rookies in the midfield since I've had a slow start to the season thus far.

Traded him last week,

Would be ok if he played this week to be honest.

Trading him out has allowed me to upgrade Goodes to Robinson, Smith to Sidebottom and when GAJ is back, Shiel to Ablett.

Not bad at all.

Happy I kept him. In fact unless he was going to be out 5-6 weeks, I never would have considered getting rid of him. People underestimate the value of trades; and they are more important this year with the awkward byes. :thumbsu:

The fact is you're going to have to bring him back into your side once he comes back anyway, as he's simply a 'must have' player if you're attempting to go for the Overall Comp win. Taking this into account, you'd have to burn 2 trades to bring him back, not to mention pool enough $ together in order to do so.

Bonus that he is already looking like a 75% chance of coming back this week.

Kept him based on my league 3-0 record. (so lucky when I have suffered with Birchall, Shaw, Hargrave, Hall, Smedts etc so has my opponent that week)

Not trading him cost me a win this week though because I had Selwood late withdrawal and no cover (FU Clay Smith)

The upside to not trading and losing this week was that I would have upgraded Devon Smith and now a 97 in Smith's rolling average might mean he has a second wind for mooing.

Long term gains and my focus was league now (given my horrid start) so Ablett back ready for the run home.

Hmm I swear his B/E was lower, but Assistant Coach has him listed as 127.. gettable by his standards, but I'd just be happy if he cracks the ton tbh, not expecting some monster score.

Still not really expecting him back this week despite the recent positive news, dont want to get my hopes up too high until I see him run on to the field.

Waiting for tomorrow's team list will be agonising!

I am the only one not worried by the fact he may spend more time up forward? I mean he usually does spend a bit of time up there anyway when he is resting and we have all seen how damaging he is. Pretty much guaranteed 3-4 goals a game up there. I mean sure he wont get 40+ possi's up in the forward line, but he wont be played as a permanent forward, probably something like 70% mid, 30% forward.

Either way all signs lead to him playing this week :thumbsu::thumbsu:

Really hope holding on to him has paid off!

Come off it, those are Coleman medal type numbers. More realistically you'll see him kick 2-3 goals each week at best and low 30's for number of possessions.

Traded him myself...for swan

will wait for him to bust another 120+ before jumping back on...

hoping I might sneak him a touch cheaper...

Traded him to Stanton. Laughing at people who held onto him so far.

Mainly did it because I didn't have sufficient cover, which was a good call.

hmmm...well I'm an idiot who traded him so perhaps ignore my advice in the "upgrade targets" thread :D

Haha maybe I was a little harsh, I'm just saying that I would never trade the great man out

And thanks for the advice in the other thread :thumbsu:

Murphy averaging 116 stop complaining. He will average 115-20 and be a top 3-4 mid! He doesn't score under 100 very often FFS.

That's far from his point. I did the same trade thinking he'd be out for another 3+ weeks.

Only gained a measly 14 pts. We'd obviously be far better off keeping Ablett and saving the trade. Only way it can be justified now is if Murphy comfortably outscores Ablett for the rest of the season.

Traded him to Murphs, debuted in my team with just 14 points separating Shiel (E)

I upgrated Smith to Murphy in Supercoch and then he scored less than him. Now that's no big deal execept Smith went up in price and significanty murphy went down. Cost me points and lots of dollars, as I could have upgrated a defender to Heppell instead. Just bad luck I guess.
