AgreedFritsch at 31 was a good bargain for us
Worpel, McCartin, Ryan, Balta, Allen & Baker all very good to great bargains too
Because he kicked straight for a changeAgreed
Fritsch is somewhat underrated by non Dees fans imo. Close to BOG against Geelong I thought.
Because he kicked straight for a change
His frustration from Melbourne fans is he does everything right but just fails to capitalize on easy chances. Once he fixes that up (like he did on Sunday) he will be really good
he defiantly isn't scared to put his body on the line, that is for sureIt amazes me how courageous he is and how many contested marks he takes, given hoe he is built like a stick.
He must be a lot more physically strong than he looks.
It's so strange. It's to the point that I'm more confident in a Fritsch miss than a goal when he plays us. If he didn't bungle the massive amount of chances he gets (at least when he plays us) I swear he'd be kicking 4+. Always seems to get off the chain and fail to capitalise.Because he kicked straight for a change

Yes, let's not underestimate Fritsch with his run forward role this eyar.Right now- James Worpel.
Long term- I really like the look of Oscar Allen, very smart player, will be a gun in a few years.
Based on the engineered criteria of 'below top 10', there's a few great pickups. In no particular order: Fritsch, Taylor, Kelly, Balta, Bailey, Ryan, Baker (rookie), Mihocek (rookie) all could be considered 'steals' relative to the position they were taken.
Unfortunately the OP's original intention when creating this thread hasn't quite worked out.
Are you really a steal if you are drafted in the first round though? How is Zac Bailey not an option. Would be top 5 in this draft for sure
I'd argue a player taken at 15 who has shown to be top 5 is significantly more of a steal than a player taken 40+ who is worth around the 20 mark. That would also be reflected in any club trading picks to move between said draft positions too.Are you really a steal if you are drafted in the first round though?
On the comparison I do agreeI'd argue a player taken at 15 who has shown to be top 5 is significantly more of a steal than a player taken 40+ who is worth around the 20 mark. That would also be reflected in any club trading picks to move between said draft positions too.
Thread was from 2019. Worps had an absolute blinder of a season that unfortunately he hasn't come close to replicating since. How the * is Worpel winning by so much?
