Who will be the recruit of the year?

I mean players that were previously on team lists.

I may have a biased opinion, but from what I have seen of Barry Hall so far, gives me that impression.

Being in NSW I have not had that much of a chance to see some of the other players in other teams, so this is just from what I have seen.

What is everyone's thoughts?

Damien Hardwick.

Others would be Hall, Porter and Farmer having a pretty notable impact on their respective sides, if not being quite as good as Dimma.

Good to see everyone's nominated a player from their own side.

Means I have to go for Gallagher I guess;)

LOL I was just thinking the same thing.

I explained that I havent seen other teams, so I am not sure how other have gone.

Hardwick would also be another one that I am expecting to be right up there.

Hardwick @ Port, Black @ St K and Hall @ Swans are all looking pretty good.

For the Tigers - it may be jumping the gun but Greg Stafford could be extremely valuable. If he allows Ottens to play forward more often whilst holding down the ruck it will be a huge bonus for Richmond.

Of course I'm basing this on one good performance (vs Pies) so take it with a grain of salt. I let out an audible groan when I heard we recruited him but would love to be proven wrong.

If Stafford stays fit it will be him as he allows Ottens to play up forward with Richo.

Interesting...

I dont think its Stafford staying fit that you have to worry about.

Its Stafford following coaches instructions and playing the team game. He didnt do that at Sydney, and is the main reason why he is no longer there.

As one of the channel 9 commentators said on thursday night i think it was Dermie. He said Stafford didn't follow team rules at Sydney but now that he has been traded he may have to realise that if he wants to keep his place in the team he is going to have to follow team rules because at Richmond he isn't the only person capable of holding down the ruck duties.

Yeah thats true.

I hope he does, because he has talent, just hasn't used it yet.

Good luck :)

Porter at North -The experts crapped on about what a great deal that Carlton got McKernan & only lost Porter.I think Porter is better than Allan.

I seriously didn't hear anyone say what a great deal we got. I thought we got a pretty poor deal. However, I'm not going to give up on McKernan just yet.

I can never decide who is better out of Porter and Allan. I love the way Porter gives everything his got and hits every contest and full pelt....Allan should take notice of that. Allan is better around the ground than Porter because he is more athletic, except when it is a marking contest....where Allan usually wimps out and doesn't hold his marks.

I'm going to follow the trend of talking up my club no matter what.

Richmond will benefit HUGELY from Rodan and Stafford...the centre square was our problem last year.

My nomination however is Bazza Hall for the effect he will have on the swans team...finally the swannies have someone to kick to since plugger retired.

freo will appreciate Croad and farmer.

hardwick is great but won't have a huge positive effect on Port because they were pretty strong already...if Hardwick is injured Port will still win.

I just hope the saints , wce and freo win their quota of games this year so we don't have to give 'em draft concessions...AGAIN !

The way Heath Black started, he will be a fantastic acquisition to our midfield for many years.

Keep pushing the Black only joined St Kilda because Collingwood were too professional for him line Rohan because I need a good laugh.

Adam Houlihan at the Tigers will be a great goal kicker for us. He also is great at hitting a target. Stafford Will be great also, and so will Rodan. This is the Best pre-season trading period that the tigers have had since we got broders and gale.
And the fact that we finished third last year, all makes this year look like being a great year.
Top 6 Finish or on ya bike Frawley

From a Demon viewpoint I of course must push Bizzel and Vardy’s names forward. But of course failing that….

Greg Stafford, because he is a reliable ruck option that allows Ottens to play forward, it makes the Richmond forward line look very powerful. As long as Greg can hold his own in the ruck, I believe he would be the recruit of the year.

Fitzgerald if he can remain fit will become a good footballer for the Crows... big if though.

Robbins should become a regular for North. Eccles from when I have seen him can play and the Blues are normally pretty good at the recycles (but Mckenaskirt is a mistake).

Hate saying it but Houlihan (original spelling of the family surname.. hooligan. They should have stuck with it) has talent, hope he gets back in with his brothers ways soon! :p

The higher profile guys has to be Hall.

S.Cox will be another disaster for us. :(
