Who will have a break out season in 2013

Have a feeling about O 'Hanlon.
Like the way he moves around and sees the game and if I believe what I hear his attitude is spot on.
Break out as in Bang I've arrived not so much but I see him becoming a good regular contributer.

Yep, latching onto the same here dude. He has that Sidebottom look about him. Tipping he knows where the goals are too, and when he does get over the total newbie factor will be a lethal HF...only needs to get 5 kicks or so IMO and he will cause some serious damage. ;)

Would love to see Vicks continue his 2011 form or Benny G to have a breakout season. Possibly even Dylan Grimes if he stays fit.
Totally agree. With a full preseason, this bloke could show the whole league just how good he's going to be as a defender. The Iron Fist will rule in 2013. We are a better team with him in the side, and he's played under 20 games

Vickory

KB stated before the Round 1 Carlton the Vickory is a better footballer than Kruezer.
Hopefully he can put his injuries aside and prove him right.

Tipping he could be more potent than Riewoldt with his height advantage and seriously good shot at goal

I can see Conca really stepping up - third season. Will have a bit of a tank and a bit more size on him by pre season's end. Already has the mindset and skills, just needs the games and experience now.

Knights I reckon will be the best of the 3 mature age free agent/trade additions. A full preseason, injection of confidence and belief by the coaches and he will flourish with his mate Ivan.

Rance - has been quite good for us and very under rated. I think if Grimes stays on the park and Chaplin proves to be a good pick up, we will see Rance blossom into one of the better defenders in the league. Despite some people and media saying he can't kick or has poor disposal - I think he actually has a nice leg on him and if allowed to rebound more, will set up a lot of attacks.

Edwards (Shane) - only started playing as a forward around the Dreamtime game IIRC and got 29 goals for the year. Playing as a pure small forward in every game, I think he could hit 40 goals.

Vickery - Hoping he can get back to his 2011 form at the very least. If his body holds up, he should be able to get back to that. Anything more would be a bonus. I think he has a high ceiling and after 1 solid season without injury, should be able to have a big breakout in 2014. The fact Ivan will be there to help lead the ruck division will also give him a good shield and teacher to help his ruck development (if the club see him as the long term main ruck or dual forward ruck role).

Honourable mentions to Dea, Batchelor, Astbury, Morris and Ellis who I all think will steadily improve also.

Agree with everything in this post. I'd add Grimes too but that's just a case of staying injury free.

I never said he was. I was just saying that the guy forgot to put him in our list of midfielders
I assumed it's what avengers meant, seeing as he mentioned neither Tuck, Grigg nor Jackson. Don't think he was just reeling off the names of our midfield but rather just the classier members of it.

IMO Conca and Shane Edwards will have breakout seasons. I can see Edwards playing a big part in the midfield and up forward and, realistically, he could average 22-24 touches a game and kick 25 goals if he goes through the season unscathed. Conca, just because he was a high draft pick and is due to have a really good season. If he plays off the wing he could be a superstar. :D

Imagine if Cotchin and Deledio slightly improve, Foley improves on last year and doesn't get injured, Tuck continues on last years form and Martin improves on his 2011 form. Along with Maric knocking is straight down to them . Then add in Grigg, Conca, Jackson etc etc
What a midfield!

While I agree with posters putting up Conca and Grimes, I think that Rance will have a great season next year, and probably push for AA. We've all seen how good he was earlier this season when he had Grimes to partner with him, the acquisition of Chaplin, and hopefully having Grimesy around more often will allow the Trossman to flourish.
