Eddie Betts or Leon Davis?

Leon Davis
Guernsey Number: 1
Height 178cm
Weight: 82kg
Date of Birth: 17 June 1981

Eddie Betts
Guernsey Number: 19
Height 173cm
Weight: 75kg
Date of Birth: 26 November 1986

Both are very similar players, but i would have to say i would rather Eddie Betts on my list because he does all the defensive things e.g leads the competition for run from behind tackles for holding the ball. Another positive for Eddie is he is 5 years younger than Leon.

Does Betts actually get a game still. Good wizard cup player and thats about it. At least leon davis actually gets a couple of kicks and a few goals.

I agree completely, and this is coming from a Carlton supporter!

Betts is an absolute waste of oxygen, and I have previously expressed my dissatisfaction at seeing him in our starting lineup. However, for some unknown reason my fellow Carlton supporters cannot face reality over Betts' playing ability.

The "magic" you speak of is just media hype. I seriously do not understand the reason for the media's obssession with Aboriginal footballers.

... Oh and my choice for the poll ...

Neither.

care to reconsider?? you really arent the smartest one, are you?? have a look at stats before you make stupid comments-up to this point in time 16goals (betts) is more than 9 goals (davis). last time 16>9! or is that too much maths for a collingwood supporter??

Both Rubbish footballers

Everytime Geelong play anyone I pray for Cam Moons to poleaxe one of those little so called 'magic' players. There are very few people in the afl who actually have that magic. Milne has it, Flash Davey has it, and Gaz Jr has it. The next time I hear some supporter say "ooooh Leon" with a look on their face that looks like they're masterbating, I'm going to floor them.

Leon Leon.

Has the ability to play in the midfield at a high standard as well as being that excellent crumber.

After his 'duck eggs' in the 2002 GF & not much more in the 2003 GF, Davis has gradually developed to the point where he is more than just a small forward. This has only happened in the last couple of seasons, with a lot more experience under his belt. If Betts can increase his stamina levels, then he could emulate Davis, but having only just turned 22, he is at a similar place to where Davis was in 2002/03.

At this stage you would take Davis ahead of Betts, but I think Eddie could ultimately match Davis' achievements if he is prepared to do the hard work over the next 2-3 seasons.
