We shouldnt need to worry about giving Clarke and Bowyer another contract, they certainly dont deserve to be on our list

Walker and Teague are about the only ones who you'd definitely give another contract to.

McGrath, Scotland, Johnson maybe. The rest can go back to suburban footy where they belong.

Camporeale definitely MUST be trade bait....

last report was he was in negotiations and close to signing on a very reduced contract.

Guys saying Campo should be traded are absolute dickwits. Dead set, the guy has been at Carlton his whole life.

He is coming to the end of the career, his been loyal, so you don't backstab him. You want him to come back to the club in 10 yrs time and be apart of the navy blue, if you backstabbed him, he would just ******** Carlton off forever.

I'm sure he will take a reduced contract...

^word.
His last name isn't Colbett and his first name isn't Leigh, is it?

Here, here. You can add me to that list of Campo supporters. We all know he hasn't been at his best this year but who has? He developed an excellent defensive game in 2004 and has been an excellent servant of the Club. This year he has been one of few midfielders who is pretty consistent with his disposal. He has done plenty on and off the field since arriving in 95 and I too would like to see him finish off in the Navy Blue jumper. I'm sure he has something to offer some of the young kids coming through the ranks in the next 2 years.

we need to get matty Lappin signed up as quickly as possible ..from what i've seen on the news he doesn't seem to happy with how the negotiations are going . he's one player we can't afford to lose .
I agree wih Campo ..he has been a great servant for the club and we should retain him , even if we just play him off the bench next year

I can't believe talk that we might intend getting rid of Whitnall. He's been pretty good this year considering the delivery to him. Playing CHF is arguably the toughest position on the ground, but in a losing side would be the most difficult.

if we're going to rebuild we need to rebuild around some structure. No better structure than having a spine. Livo, Thornton, Whitnall and Fev is a pretty good spine.

Whitnall has been okay for us this year when he is left at CHF. He can only play that position and it is a problem when the defender starts running off him.

2 questions for you.

Is he worth 500k that he has been on for a few years now?
Where is Waite/Fisher/Setanta/Hartlett going to all play next year?

We have an excess of marking players up forward for next year. We will keep all the youngsters and look for there devolpment. Waite should get CHF and Fev has FF. Fisher on the flank and Setanta and Hartlett to be brought on next year nice and slowly.
If we give up a secound round pick and Whitnall to get a gun in the pre season draft then I am happy with that. Or even for just some draft picks then still happy with that.

Definitely not worth 500k. I agree. And if he's fair dinkum, he'll take a pay cut as mooted in the press.

Waite and Fisher are good options for us up forward I agree. Not sure about the other two though - just don't know enough about them. Whitnall is a proven CHF, the other two aren't. Whitnall isn't old remember either. So to answer your question, I think Whitnall is currently better than Waite, Fisher et al at CHF. Waite is currently taking the third defender. Whits and Fev are taking 1 & 2 or vice versa.

Most teams go in with three tall forwards nowadays anyway. Plus, we need a quasi CHB, because our backline needs a tall third, either opening up an option for Livo or Thornton to play the third tall defender.

I can't see the option of giving away a proven CHF - who this year has got fit and is playing a lot better, than taking draft picks. Who knows what's in the draft and whether they'll be worthwhile for us? It's a bit of a lottery, not as much these days but you never can tell. Plus, if we pick up a good youngster in the draft, it might take him 2 - 3 years to come good!

Well I suppose thats where you and I are differnet.
A player on 500K who was going to be captain cant be bothered to keep his weight under control for years. Has to have the wake up call that no club is prepared to offer anything of vaalue to him in the draft to actually get fit and play REASONABLE football. You want to hang onto players with that sort of attitude?
Waite played FF against Hawthorn when Fev was out. He dominated and was best on ground. He will be a better player than Whitnall next year.
If you cant see that Whitnall and Pagan dont get on then fine. Pagan will be there next year so why not trade him.
We are not going to make the finals next year so lets get some more young talent to the club who will mature in a few years when we are ready to do that.

Campo to be resigned soon hopefully - people wanting to get rid off him now need to have a good look at themselves.

Camporeale stayed with carlton when he was offered alot more to go home and other victorian clubs - admittedly having a bad yr atm, but we all know he is a fantastic player and should be a major part of our re buliding process.

Show some loyalty blue baggers, support this guy!

A lot more than the 600K he is on now?

Players like Morell and Brett Johnson (and Maybe Cory Mcgrath) should almost certainly not be re-signed and should be headed to the surbarban scrap heap.

Give Morell another year, i think he can improve but for me i'd agree with Johnson and McGrath leaving and also IMO Bannister,Clarke,Bowyer,Longmuir,Norman,Wiggins all have to go because they are all no hopers and we could have sace in the cap to maybe pick up a gun with all their salaries in the PSD.

Yep, we are different. You're talking about Waite playing the second bottom side as a once off and dominating. If that's the basis for your argument that's fair enough.

Whitnalls proven, hence his money. Each year he's had interrupted pre seasons. I know what you'll say, excuses excuses......but they're the facts.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Waite play forward with Fisher, Fev and Whitnall but I know that can't all happen.

If I can't see that Whits and Pagan don't get along........not sure what you mean there. If Pagan didn't want him, he would've gone to any length to trade him last year. And he had every opportunity. And don't try to tell me it was the money side of things that was the problem, cos we're STILL paying for Beaumont and McKernan from what I understand! So paying half of Whitnalls salary in the scheme of things would not have been an issue.

In summary, keep Whitnall, keep Campo.

Morel wont improve!! out of that list the only ones worth keeping are Mcgrath and Bannister..normans the best player there but hes a meathead :(

Sign up Waite before he knows how much other clubs would give for him!!!!! This guy will explode in the next 2-3 years :D (injuries pending)

Anyone remember Kouta 2000-2001???? Injuries cost him the Brownlow and us possibly the flag(cant remember the year exactly:()

Waite wil be better than that!!!!
